Summer Camp Chronicles

On a whim, Geoff took a job as a counselor at an American camp in 1977 ... Forty three years later, he still works at that camp. In this interview, Geoff talks to Eric and Ben about why he left behind a promising career as a chemist and what camp has meant to him over the years.

At some point, everyone has to leave camp - at least temporarily. For some, it's a smooth transition. For others, not so much.

A big event shakes up Eric's camp world and he narrowly manages to escape unscathed.

The 3 Musketeers break up, temporarily, allowing Eric to re-connect with an old friend - and they become counselors together.

Take a trip down memory lane as Eric and Ben speak with John, the dear friend Eric met on the bus to camp in 1986. Eric and John compare what stories they remember, and which they don't, but one thing that has not changed is the fondness in which they reflect on those years growing up at summer camp.

We continue Eric's journey of discovery, friendship and shenanigans as we are deep into the 80's. The discussion reveals how such a deep love for camp can trigger feelings of protectiveness, camaraderie and rebellion. 

Eric begins his camp saga and introduces the audience to a couple of very fascinating characters. This is the year that the meaning of camp came to fruition in Eric's life, and a lifelong friendship blossomed.
