Have you ever felt like you're stuck between where you've been and where God is leading you?
Our overnight ferry from Italy to Greece became much more than transportation. As we watched one shoreline disappear before the next came into view, I realized that faith often grows in life's transitions. Sometimes we can't see what's ahead, but that doesn't mean God isn't leading us there.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, discover how one unforgettable night on the Adriatic Sea became a powerful reminder that God's presence is often most evident when we're between two shores.

What if the most meaningful moments of your life aren't found in the places everyone talks about?
After leaving Rome, our family spent a day exploring Bari, Italy, before boarding an overnight ferry to Greece. What we expected to be a simple stopover became one of the most memorable days of our journey. Watching local women make fresh pasta by hand, exploring centuries-old streets, and slowing down reminded me that life's greatest treasures often aren't found on the itinerary.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, discover why the places we almost overlook often leave the biggest impact, and how God uses ordinary moments to teach extraordinary lessons.
Scripture: Matthew 6:26

Have you ever realized that every new chapter in life begins with saying goodbye to the last one?
After four unforgettable days exploring Rome, our family boarded a train bound for Bari. As the Eternal City disappeared through the window, I realized that growth often begins the moment we're willing to leave something familiar behind.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, discover how one simple train ride across Italy became a reminder that God works in seasons. Sometimes we can't embrace what's ahead until we're willing to let go of what's behind.

Have you ever returned to a place from your past and realized the place hadn't changed... but you had?
Years before returning to Rome with my family, I had visited the Colosseum during a stressful business trip. This time was different. Walking through one of history's most iconic landmarks with Amanda and our kids reminded me that God doesn't just change our circumstances. Sometimes He changes us, then brings us back to familiar places so we can see them with new eyes.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, discover how the rise and fall of the Roman Empire became a powerful reminder that success, recognition, and earthly accomplishments fade, but faith, family, and what we build for eternity truly last.
Scripture: Matthew 6:19-20

Have you ever watched thousands of people endure pouring rain without leaving?
During Pope Francis' Wednesday Papal Audience in St. Peter's Square, our family experienced one of the wettest mornings of our entire trip through Europe. After getting separated from Amanda and the kids in a sea of people, I found myself soaked to the bone, sitting alone near the front, watching something remarkable unfold.
That rainy morning reminded me that the things we value most are revealed by what we're willing to endure.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, discover how one unforgettable morning at the Vatican became a lesson in perseverance, faith, and staying committed even when life gets uncomfortable.
Scripture: Galatians 6:9

What if the moments that shaped your life didn't seem important when they happened?
In this episode, I look back at three birthdays spanning more than three decades:
🎂 Turning 21 after teaching English in Sopot, Poland and celebrating in London.
✈️ Celebrating another birthday over the Nile River on a flight to Tanzania, when a KLM flight attendant surprised Amanda and me with champagne as we traveled toward Mount Kilimanjaro.
🙏 And yesterday... another birthday that reminded me to stop counting years and start recognizing God's faithfulness.
Looking back, I realized something.
The most meaningful milestones aren't measured by age.
They're measured by how God quietly shapes us through ordinary moments we don't fully understand until years later.
If you've ever wondered whether God is working in your life when you can't yet see the bigger picture, this episode is for you.
Keep climbing.

One of the biggest surprises from our family's journey across Europe wasn't the Colosseum...
Or the Eiffel Tower...
Or even the Acropolis.
It was discovering how many everyday assumptions I didn't even realize I had.
Meals lasted longer.
People walked almost everywhere.
Air conditioning wasn't nearly as common.
Public transportation was simply part of everyday life.
Even something as simple as personal space felt different.
At first, I caught myself comparing everything to home.
Then I realized something that changed the way I viewed not only Europe—but leadership, relationships, and life.
Different doesn't mean wrong.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, I share how traveling through Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, France, and England challenged my assumptions and reminded me that growth often begins when we're willing to learn from people who see the world differently.
In this episode:
• The unexpected cultural differences we experienced across Europe
• Why comparison often prevents growth
• Leadership lessons from curiosity instead of judgment
• What Kilimanjaro taught me about trusting a different approach
• James 1:19 and the wisdom of listening before speaking
• How humility opens the door to better leadership, stronger relationships, and a richer life
Season 4 follows our family's journey across Europe, discovering timeless lessons from history, culture, faith, leadership, and family.
Every destination has a story.
Every story has a lesson.
The world is full of lessons. Sometimes you just have to travel far enough—or slow down enough—to discover them.

I never did figure out how many people fit on a European bus.
Every time I thought it was completely full...
Five more people climbed aboard.
Then five more.
Then somehow... even more.
At one point, I wasn't entirely sure if the sweat on my shirt belonged to me or the passenger standing next to me.
What started as one of the funniest moments of our family's journey across Europe became an unexpected lesson about personal space, perspective, resilience, and discovering that we often have more capacity than we think.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, I share how crowded buses, cultural differences, and a little humor revealed a powerful leadership lesson that followed me all the way back home.
In this episode:
• The surprising reality of public transportation in Europe
• Why different cultures define "personal space" differently
• What crowded buses taught me about resilience
• The connection between Europe and Mount Kilimanjaro
• Philippians 4:13 and finding strength beyond our perceived limits
• Why we often have more capacity than we believe

I sat outside the Colosseum in Rome expecting to admire one of history's greatest landmarks.
Instead, I witnessed something I'll never forget.
A young Italian mother quietly sang to her baby while gently rocking the stroller. I couldn't understand a single word she sang, yet somehow I understood everything she was trying to say.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, I share one of the most unexpected moments from our family's journey through Italy and how a simple lullaby became a powerful reminder that love, kindness, and compassion transcend language, culture, and borders.
In this episode:
• A quiet moment outside the Colosseum that changed my perspective
• Why love is understood in every language
• Leadership lessons about presence over performance
• The connection between Rome and Mount Kilimanjaro
• What Scripture teaches us about communicating through love
• How the smallest moments often become the most unforgettable memories

I've visited Rome several times.
Amanda and I had even experienced this incredible city together before.
But this trip was completely different.
For the first time, I wasn't experiencing Rome for myself—I was watching my children experience it for the very first time.
That changed everything.
In this episode of Summit After the Storm, I share how walking through the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the ancient streets of Rome with my family reminded me that sometimes the greatest adventures aren't about discovering new places—they're about rediscovering familiar ones with fresh eyes.
In this episode:
• Why Rome felt brand new even though I'd been there before
• What my children taught me about wonder
• Why curiosity is one of a leader's greatest strengths
• The connection between Rome and Mount Kilimanjaro
• Matthew 18 and seeing life with childlike faith
• How to rediscover wonder in your everyday life
Whether you're a parent, a leader, a traveler, or someone who has allowed routine to replace curiosity, I hope this episode reminds you that sometimes the destination hasn't changed...
