Wednesday Mass. 7.29.26.
Homily on the feast of Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. I talk about how each of them teaches us something different — Martha shows us that service is good but our energy has to be directed toward the better part; Mary shows us what it means to be a true disciple who sits at the feet of the Lord; and Lazarus shows us how deeply Jesus loves us, even in silence. I also talk about how so much of Jesus' life with this family was ordinary — just being present, eating, spending time together — and how God sanctifies our humdrum, ordinary days too, not just the dramatic ones. I share a story about a woman who felt her life was "useless" once she could no longer serve actively, and some advice a mentor once gave me about learning to be faithful in the unremarkable moments, not just the exciting ones.
Tuesday Mass. 7.28.26.
In this homily, I talk about the cycle we see in the first reading with the Israelite people—falling into idols, forgetting God, and then repenting and being brought back to Him. I connect this to our own lives and how we do the same thing, even in subtle ways. I also talk about the gospel and the reality that good and evil exist side by side in this world, and why God allows that. My hope is that this homily helps you see repentance not as a one-time thing, but as something we return to every day, and encourages you to pray for those who don't yet know God's love instead of writing them off.
Monday Mass. 7.27.26.
A homily on why God allows struggle in our lives, and how love is only tested through trials and suffering.
Sunday Mass. 7.26.26.
I look at the parables of the pearl of great price, the treasure in the field, and the net thrown into the sea, and what they teach us about freedom, love, and the treasures we choose to pursue in this life.
Wednesday Mass. 7.22.26.
In this homily, I talk about how so many of us think our problem is that we don't love God enough, when really the problem is we don't understand how much He already loves us. I share the story of St. Mary Magdalene and what it means to ask Jesus directly how much He loves you.
Monday Mass. 7.20.26.
In this homily I reflect on the first reading from Micah, where God puts His people on trial and reminds them of everything He's done for them. I talk about how we try to earn God's attention through external things like rituals and good deeds, believing that if we do enough, God will listen — but that's backwards. We do these things because we love God, not to appease Him. I also touch on the lie that God can't see us in our mess, and why the answer isn't to hide our brokenness but to bring it to Him and walk humbly with Him.
Sunday Mass. 7.19.26.
In this homily, I reflect on the parable of the wheat and the weeds — why God, in His patience, doesn't pull up the weeds too soon.
Saturday Mass. 7.18.26.
I preach on the danger of spiritual pride — how the very people who draw closest to God, who go to Mass daily and pray faithfully, can be the ones most tempted toward arrogance and self-righteousness.
Wednesday Mass. 7.15.26.
I preach on today's Gospel and the contrast between worldly wisdom and childlike faith. Using St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Bonaventure, and St. Francis as examples, I explore how intelligence and learning are meant to draw us closer to God, not make us arrogant. I reflect on what it means to approach God with a childlike heart, especially when life doesn't go the way we expect.
Tuesday Mass. 7.14.26.
Today's homily on the life of St. Kateri Tekakwitha — how she lost her family to smallpox, endured persecution for her faith, and still gave her whole life to Jesus Christ.
