In today's episode of The Daily Larb, I'm talking a little more about the importance of disconnecting from the need to bring about a particular result in the creative process. Some believe that to create something worthwhile we've got to grind it out, to "make" it happen, as if being the boss of it is going to bring about worldly success and admiration. In fact, the opposite seems to be true. At least that has been my experience of how this creative thing works. Sure, determination, or rather resilience, is required in any creative endeavour, but to feel the need to force a thing to be a particular way will actually have the reverse effect.
