Thank you for listening and once again, sharing this space of self-care and why and how we share our journey.
Happy late Mothers Day, it's been a tough couple of weeks with the loss of my aunt Carla. We wanted to share the importance of having the conversation about planning for your family upon leaving, the very last chapter of our lives. Family Trust and living wills, cremation or burials, what to do with all the stuff you have accumulated over time. Thinking about how you can make this transition a calm and time meant for grieving can take place.
Here is the LMNT link.
Here is Jason Seib's website for mindset work, how to conquer your life and live life will amazing self care skills. It is not a weight loss program.
Happy Birthday to me....I wanted to share why I do and don't love to celebrate my birthday. Do you feel the same way, or are you all in? Or do you avoid it like the plague?
Either way, you have a story. Would you like to come and share it with us? Let us know what you think, are these too long, or just right?
Being kind or showing good etiquette in how we present ourselves in the world brings goodness to our lives and others. I love this conversation, as it aligns with so many things in our lives.
Florence Littauer-Personality Plus-The Four Humors is one of the resources Dennis spoke about and shared as we discussed how we are different and self-awareness.
We had a small moment that we discussed, and how we are able to get through those moments without pointing fingers or blaming the other person. What we think is often the culprit of the ongoing conflict of that small moment of miscommunication, and how we move forward is in our control. We can choose how we react, we can choose to move forward and sometimes that means there needs to be a cooling off period, to allow emotions to settle and decide how we can communication better and how to talk about our needs and expectations.
Being able to verbalize our needs and being vulnerable is one of the key components of healthy relationships, feeling safe and having an open mind helps us do that. I love my husband, why do I question his love for me? Working on this ALL THE TIME. In it forever, no matter what has to be at the forefront of my work on my own mindset. Running and hiding does not prove itself to be effective.
What are the deal breakers for you? Have you spoken about them, do you know what they are? If you haven't, I highly encourage you to have that conversation, and this way you can keep that close during times of conflict, that it wasn't a deal breaker moment, it was a me moment or a moment we need to calm or find balance, and then carry on. Do you have those moments? If so, please share them, or you can email me [email protected] and share how you get through those times. I would love to hear your story.
We referenced this podcast with Mel Robbins:
We talked about how to stay connected during busy seasons of your life with your partner, family, friends and how to be present in those moments that really count. That keep you grounded and engaged in the important relationships that you have.
We also talked a little about scheduling time as if you are dating to connect physically, mentally and spiritually, which we are working as a couple. Have a wonderful week and thank for joining us on this adventure of podcasting and sharing.
We had a discussion earlier in the day about considering what the other person is thinking, and most of the time, I am wrong; I don't know what Dennis is thinking. The books we shared this week:
Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds by David Goggins
Embrace the Suck: The Navy Seal Way to an Extraordinary Life by Brent Gleeson
The Beginner's Guide to Stoicism by Matthew J. Van Natta
We talk about a list, but more specifically about religion, expectations, and communication.
We talked this morning about how we navigate our differences and how we balance each other at times. It is never perfect and always a work in progress. How do you navigate your negotiations and discussions on this topic? Please hit like and share with others that you think might benefit from this conversation. Thank you for hitting play and stopping by! Until next time...
