Paul calls us to walk in the spirit and in the flesh because what we focus on we begin to follow. By choosing the Spirit we can live without condemnation and we can destroy the works of flesh within our lives.

Paul makes a bold proclamation on Romans 8:1. He states that "there is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus." Two powerful points are made through this message. The rules will never free us. They simply point us toward the need for a Savior. And Secondly, we can choose to walk without condemnation because it is a gift worth receiving.

Do you live as a victim or do you live as a victor? How you live your life will determine the outcome of your life. We can live victoriously because God is for us and there is nothing that can separate us from His love. And most of all, we don't just get by, we are more than conquerors.

Where is your faith? Do you have faith in faith? Do you have faith in religion, or what you possess? True faith must be focused and centered in Christ who gave Himself for us. That is the only source of faith we have. Faith in Christ is the only hope we have as a nation and as individuals.

How many times have you found people that reject the truth? Have you ever tried to share an undeniable truth with someone only to have them defiantly reject the truth you are offering? In this message we find that Paul offers us a resource to understanding truth and then allowing that truth to bring transformation.

How many find that in light of the news and the problems on country, our community, and the personal issues you might face that there are times where you struggle to keep faith and to live victoriously? As we listen to the news, it seems that all we hear is negative. We struggle to know who to believe and who we can trust. But Jesus calls us not to lose faith and stay strong. This message gives us the steps to remain strong regardless of what happens.

One of the great truths of the Bible is that Jesus is the door. In the John 10 Jesus reminds us that He is the way to eternal life. As believers He gives us the assurance that we are safe in His arms and that we do not have to worry about being in or being out. As a follwwer of Christ we can know that we are in the fold and that we are safe.

As believers, we have the great opportunity to share the message of hope and grace to the world around us. Paul understood this as he wanted to use wisdom and he wanted his speech to be filled with grace and love. He did not want to be harsh and turn people off. That was his prayer and that should be our prayer as well.

Throughout the Old Testament God established covenants with His people. Today, we find that our nation and our churches have broken God's covenant. But there is hope because the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us. He came so we could be changed and be a changer of hearts ourselves.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and it is the evidence of things not seen. Real faith never denies truth or the realities of our life. Faith is not a channel to get what we want but rather it is a channel for God to send us His blessing so we can be a blessing to others. Max Lucado has stated that faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right.
