What happens when you’ve prayed for God to change something, and it still hasn’t changed?
You’ve asked Him to heal.
To restore.
To open the door.
To lift the burden.
You believe He can do it. That’s why you keep praying.
But the harder question is this:
Can you trust Christ when His answer is different from your request?
Paul knew that tension.
Three times he pleaded with the Lord to remove his thorn. But instead of removing it, Christ answered:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Paul asked for removal.
Christ answered with grace.
And that changes how we understand unanswered prayer, persistent weakness, and the sufficiency of Christ.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
✅ Why persistent prayer is not evidence of deficient faith
✅ How to keep asking while surrendering the outcome to God
✅ What “My grace is sufficient for you” actually means
✅ Why an unchanged circumstance does not mean an absent Christ
✅ How weakness reveals where we’ve been placing our confidence
✅ Why Christ’s power becomes unmistakable when ours runs out
Sometimes Christ removes the thorn.
Sometimes He gives grace to carry what remains.
Either way, our hope was never that our strength would be sufficient.
Our hope is that His grace always will be.
Bring Him what hurts.
Receive what He promises.
Rely on His power when yours runs out.

What if the weakness you keep asking God to remove isn’t proof that something has gone wrong?
We spend so much of life trying to prove we’re enough.
Strong enough.
Capable enough.
Successful enough.
Spiritual enough.
Then weakness enters our lives and exposes what we’d rather forget: we have limits.
The apostle Paul knew that feeling.
After receiving extraordinary revelations from God, Paul was given something completely unexpected: a painful, persistent “thorn in the flesh.”
Why?
Paul tells us twice: to keep him from becoming conceited.
The thorn was painful.
But pride was the greater danger.
Listen to discover how Christ can use the very weaknesses we wish would disappear to deepen our humility, dependence, and trust in Him.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
✅ Why Paul’s thorn was about more than suffering
✅ How even God’s blessings can become occasions for pride
✅ Why weakness does not mean Christ has stopped working
✅ The danger of taking credit for what grace has provided
✅ A better question to ask when God doesn’t remove the burden
✅ Why you were never meant to be enough because Christ is enough
We don’t know why every thorn comes.
But we do know this:
Your weakness does not put you beyond Christ’s work.
Sometimes Christ changes our circumstances.
Sometimes He uses our circumstances to change us.

What do you do when the God who blessed you yesterday allows something today that breaks your heart?
One day, the flour doesn't run out.
The next day, the widow's son dies.
In 1 Kings 17:17–24, Elijah and the widow are forced to wrestle with one of life's hardest questions: can we still trust God when His ways don't make sense?
This passage doesn't minimize grief or offer easy answers. Instead, it shows us where faith goes when life falls apart; it carries its deepest burdens into the presence of the living God.
If you've ever struggled to reconcile God's goodness with your pain, this message will encourage you to keep bringing your questions, your sorrow, and your hope to Him.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
Faith doesn't require having every answer.
It simply knows where to take every burden.

What do you do when God's promises seem bigger than your resources?
You look at what's in your hands...
and it simply doesn't seem like enough.
Not enough money.
Not enough strength.
Not enough time.
Not enough hope.
In 1 Kings 17, Elijah meets a widow with one final handful of flour and a little oil. She believes she's preparing her last meal.
But God sees something she cannot.
Because faith doesn't begin by counting what's in the jar.
Faith begins by trusting what God has said.
In this message, we'll discover why God's provision often looks different than we expect—and why His faithfulness is greater than our scarcity.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
You may not have everything you want.
But if God has spoken...
you have everything you need to take the next step.

What happens when the very thing God gave you begins to disappear?
The job.
The relationship.
Your health.
The season of stability you thought would last.
In 1 Kings 17, Elijah obeys God completely and still watches the brook God provided begin to dry up.
Why?
Because sometimes God changes the provision without ever changing His faithfulness.
In this new series through the life of Elijah, we'll discover that God's greatest work isn't always in changing our circumstances. Often, it's in changing what we're trusting.
If you're walking through uncertainty, loss, or a season where life feels different than you expected, this message is for you.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
The brook may change.
The God who provides never does.

What practical difference is the gospel making in your life?
Not just in what you believe.
But in how you love.
How you forgive.
How you approach difficult people.
How you handle broken relationships.
The book of Philemon reminds us that the gospel was never meant to stay in our heads. It was designed to transform the way we live every day.
In this special guest episode, my friend Hiram Kemp opens one of the New Testament's shortest books to reveal one of its biggest truths: the gospel changes everything.
If it has truly changed your relationship with God, it should also change your relationships with people.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
The gospel isn't just something you believe.
It's something you live.

What if the greatest protection for Christ's church isn't better policies...but better stewardship?
In the final message of our series on church leadership, Paul gives one last command: "Keep yourself pure."
Before we can faithfully lead others...we must faithfully guard our own hearts.
Because every leadership decision reveals something about the leader making it.
In this episode, we conclude our study of 1 Timothy 5 by exploring the weight of spiritual stewardship, the responsibility leaders carry before God, and why no human shepherd can perfectly fulfill Christ's standard.
That's why our hope has never been in perfect elders.
Our hope has always been in the perfect Shepherd.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
✅ What Paul means by "sharing in the sins of others"
✅ Why leadership decisions carry lasting responsibility
✅ The connection between personal integrity and public leadership
✅ How churches can protect future generations through faithful stewardship
✅ Why every leader ultimately points beyond himself to Jesus Christ
✅ The hope every wounded church and every imperfect leader needs
Every shepherd falls short.
Only One never has.

Leadership failures don’t start when the scandal breaks. They often start years earlier, with rushed decisions and overlooked warning signs.
In 1 Timothy 5:22, Paul offers the church a safeguard: Don’t be hasty in appointing leaders. Preventing future failures begins before they ever start.
This episode is a call to patience, discernment, and character-first leadership selection so the next generation doesn’t repeat the mistakes of the past.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
✅ Why most leadership failures could have been prevented
✅ What "laying hands hastily" actually means for leadership selection
✅ How to prioritize character over charisma in future leaders
✅ Why rushing appointments can harm both leaders and congregations
✅ How waiting on God’s timing can protect the church for years to come

Can a church pursue justice without becoming harsh?
Can it show grace without compromising truth?
In 1 Timothy 5:20–21, Paul answers both questions.
When the sin of a church leader is confirmed and remains unrepentant, Scripture doesn't call the church to silence.
It calls the church to courageous accountability.
Not to shame. Not to seek revenge.
But to protect Christ's church and call sinners to repentance.
Yet Paul also warns against the opposite danger: favoritism.
Justice cannot depend on personality, popularity, or position.
Whether confronting sin or extending grace, God's people must pursue the truth without partiality because every decision is made before the presence of God.
In this episode, we'll discuss:
✅ Why public rebuke is meant to protect the church—not humiliate leaders
✅ The difference between accountability and vengeance
✅ Why repentance changes how the church responds to sin
✅ What it means to lead and judge without favoritism
✅ How Christ calls His church to pursue both justice and grace
✅ Why every leadership decision is made before the presence of God
Healthy churches don't choose between truth and love.
They pursue both.
Because Christ protects His church when His people steward leadership according to His design.

What do you do when an accusation is made against a church leader?
Believe it immediately?
Ignore it completely?
In a culture fueled by outrage, speculation, and snap judgments, Paul gives the church a better way.
In 1 Timothy 5:19–21, he teaches us how to pursue justice without sacrificing truth, and how to protect both faithful leaders and vulnerable congregations in the process.
Because leadership failure isn't the only danger.
Sometimes churches protect leaders at all costs.
Sometimes, churches destroy leaders through rumor.
Both damage the body of Christ.
And both happen when truth is replaced by assumptions.
In this episode, we explore Paul's blueprint for leadership accountability and the biblical principle that must come before every accusation, investigation, and verdict:
Truth before conclusions.
In This Episode, We'll Discuss:
✅ Why God requires evidence before accusations are received
✅ The difference between accountability and gossip
✅ How churches unintentionally destroy faithful leaders
✅ Why biblical justice protects both leaders and congregations
✅ The Old Testament roots behind Paul's teaching
✅ What it means to pursue truth before reaching conclusions
Whether you've been hurt by leadership failure, wounded by false accusations, or simply want to understand God's design for His church, this episode offers wisdom our churches desperately need today.
