We look at a narrative from the word today that doesn’t get a whole lot of attention (it’s been about 8 years since we last looked at it) but it shows what happens when good was sown, but a man described in a most unfaltering way scoffed at the good shown him and a lot of very bad stuff almost followed. What stopped it? When you see it you will understand more of why the enemy of our faith wants us to pursue selfish things instead of staying in the walk of honor.

Last week we did a word study on the verse and looked at how the words were used in the Bible to show you that what James has in mind here is not what some are practicing. So this week we look to see how this is actually demonstrated in the Word of God. I looked around for some information to help accomplish what I wanted to do tonight. What I found was a lot of confusion on these two verses in James 5:17-18. So tonight we will look at Elijah and others praying fervently, but also show you how these kind of confusing understandings come about. Knowing this will help confusion not set in on other issues.

Could I be a person of honor but heading in a direction of dishonor? It is possible and it has happened to many people who thought they were right and justified in the directions they took. But we will see a path today that should leave no doubt as to the direction you are heading and what you can do if it’s the wrong one. We also look at how a person of honor rightly confronts people of dishonor.
