How do I honor God? Many think they are honoring God and the things of God, but when we see what the Bible teaches honor is to God we may find we are actually honoring something else. When I began pondering this series I came to see that though our faith put us in a place to receive the favor of God and men, walking in dishonor can drive it away. Through this series we will how this is and how we can change it.

Honor affects our worship, prayers, relationships, understanding, and so much more. We have the children in the service this Sunday and there are a few special aspects just for them, but I think all will enjoy.

Here is a question to ponder before you get here this morning. Matthew 5:44 tells us to “...Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” So, how would you think we are to respond to those who dishonor us?

There are almost 2 dozen scriptures that tell us God raised Jesus from the dead, so we know who did it but how did He bring about this miracle? Did God work through those on the earth, use a gift of the Spirit like working of miracles or gift of faith, or did He step in and alter the affairs of the earth without going through men at all?

If God just stepped in on this greatest of all miracles that also had the most profound affect upon the race of mankind, is there a way to get God to do this again to change things going on in our lives? If God worked through those on the earth, who was believing for or being used to bring this miracle about? Seems like we ought to know the answer to this question, though I can’t remember even thinking of this before! We all want our lives to have significance, but so many feel we have lived an insignificant life! Add to this the kingdom of darkness is constantly feeding our feelings of insignificance and low self worth and it’s a battle to see ourselves as the word of God describes; filled with power, joy, love, purpose, and so much more.

When Jesus went to the cross we know He fulfilled His life’s purpose, but He did so much along the way too. Though He died mostly alone with many of those He helped making up the crowd watching or hurling verbal abuses, none of us would look at His life in anything but a positive light. So how can we look at our life with the same positivity?

You life is probably more significant than you can see and tonight at our Good Friday service, we will look at how we can view our lives this way along with how you can make sure it has the impact you desire.
