Two weeks ago, we looked at the message of Jesus from Mark about marriage and why the church should seek to preserve marriage at great cost. In part two, we now see why the message of the church is to preserve marriage at great cost, but not at any cost.

Many people miss the way that Mark 13 provides the framework for how to read Mark 14 because they are so used to reading the whole chapter like a stand alone, isolated prediction of the second coming. And let me be clear – Mark 13 is talking about the second coming, but there is so much more happening that we will see this week!

In both Mark 14:1–2 and Mark 14:10-11, we are shown that the opinion of the people, and money are valued by the religious leaders, and Judas Iscariot. Sandwiched in between these verses is an incredible story about a woman of faith who rightly values Jesus above both of those. Join us this Sunday, as we look at this beautiful act of worship, and are reminded of the invitation to not only come to God, but the beauty and far surpassing worth of remaining in/with Him.

Join us this week as we start Mark 13 and sit with Jesus as he walks us through the signs of the end of the age. Jesus spends so long telling his disciples about what is to come because he wants them to endure to the end and be saved. Let's sit at Jesus' feet together and have him teach us about what is to come.

Join us this Sunday as Jesus compares and contrasts the religious leaders to a poor widow. Watch as Jesus turns public opinion on its head in both situations. The scribes were put on a religious pedestal and everyone assumed they were righteous and closest to God. Jesus exposes the error of those assumptions. Then he takes someone that society saw as the lowest and giving the least and he shows that she actually gave the most. The wealthy scribes are actually financial predators, but the poor widow is actually rich in faith.

This Sunday, we will take a look at Mark 9:1-10 to understand how Jesus being transfigured on the mountain is not simply a confirmation that He is who He claimed to be; but a profound reality that changes how we live in the "valley."

This Labor Day we are going to focus on a vision for vocation. Join us as we dig deeper into what the Bible says about why we work and how it relates to the gospel.

The Psalmist is also aware of a voice speaking within him and he shows us how to not merely listen to ourselves, but preach to ourselves. Not many people get excited about church structure. It almost goes without saying that people are more excited about church growth than church structure. But our passage this week shows the intricate relationship between the two. Join us as we dive deep in God's word on this important relationship between the two.
