Vaughn talks to Clare Curran, the former journalist Labour MP currently situated in Dunedin, who has a number of portfolios alongside her name.
Curran assumed the portfolios of Minister of Broadcasting, Communications, and Digital Media and Minister for Government Digital Services. As well as, Curran was also allocated the associate portfolios for the Accident Compensation Corporation and the State Services Commission.
She describes herself as a futurist, and insists she is learning on the job- "It's such a privilege to be an MP, let alone be in government." Clare speaks to Vaughn about the want to make data more accessible to the public and the importance of internet access for those who may not have it.
Also, Vaughn has Anna Connell in for Apps of the Week, where they discuss scam emails, the new 280 twitter word count, virtual doctors appointments, and the low down... on fish.
As you learn to not reply to scam emails, NZ internet safety agency Netsafe, has decided to fight back against email scammers. Rescam.org is a bot that talks to scammers on your behalf - engaging them in endless conversations with the aim of wasting as much of their time as possible.
Twitter now has a 280-word count for all! The horror here though is 'Twice the Trump!'... Vaughn shares his views.
The Waikato DHB tries virtual doctors appointments but no one wants them. Check it out here.
