Vaughn is joined by Abhi Kala, the founder of Titan Ideas who are developing augmented reality technology, leading the way in online colouring.

Creating the platform, Zippy's Tales, Titan Ideas are trying to teach the Maori alphabet, mixed with 3D colouring.

You are totally in a virtual environment.

The user begins colouring on their device on Android or iPhone, but if they look through the screen, the drawing becomes 3D, as if it were in front of you.

Mr Kala describes it as;

Somethings 3D in your view... that doesn't really exist.

Mr Kala believes in New Zealand we are culturally disconnected... that people are losing their self-identity.

Huji Cam is a camera app that makes your camera look like an old-school disposable camera. Are we a fan?

Cate also looks at the latest trend in adult videos - Face swapping. Someone has used the face swapping ability of apps like snapchat to take celebrities faces and convincingly map them onto porn stars bodies. The technique is known as "deepfakes" and had led to a variety of women's faces appearing in pornographic video's that they did not participate in.

And finally, Cate looks at the idea of "social ranking" in our society. Although the idea may have appeared in Black Mirror, it may become a reality.

Vaughn talks with Linda Coles, an author from Blue Banana about LinkedIn, it uses and its evolution.

As of 2018, 1.5 Million New Zealanders use LinkedIn to network across the globe.

Vaughn speaks about his friend request he gets on LinkedIn... from a guy in the produce department.

Linda says "It's for everybody" and "It's the place to be", in a networking sense.

Most people are actually using LinkedIn on their phone - 80% of content comes from users posting on their mobile.

This week Vaughn talks with William Chomley, the founder and CEO of New Zealand company Imagr on their new wireless barcode scanning.

What does Vaughn mean?!

Imagr is creating a system that recognises supermarket products, without the need for barcode scanning.

The benefit of the new system would be towards customers of retailers, shopping around a supermarket with one of these cameras.

Chomley explains the device would use the store wifi and clip onto an existing trolley in the supermarket.

Once you've shopped using the gadget, you receive a receipt come straight through to your phone while you're shopping.

Better yet, you can instantly walk out of the supermarket once you're done, no need to pay at checkout as the money is deducted from your connected account.

Chomley says the amazing addition to shopping will become live in April this year, at a store in Auckland... stay tuned.

This week Vaughn talks with Emily Vacher from Facebook who leads a programme named Amber Alerts - a missing child alert system.

In New Zealand, the alert sends critical information to anyone on Facebook who is in the local search area.

The details that appear on Facebook are an image of the missing child, their age, and the details of the car or area they were last seen in.

The alert will come through in the middle of a users feed with a picture and a short description... but always the same information. After this, you can choose to 'learn more' and it will give the user more details about the case.
