What started as an afternoon of sailing turned into a life-threatening emergency for Grand Valley State University student Lincoln White-Day.
In Part One of this episode of Core Conversations with Natalie Baggio, Lincoln and his mother, Lorraine White-Day, share the story of a severe electrical accident that left Lincoln fighting for his life. After a sailboat mast came into contact with power lines, bystanders performed CPR until emergency crews arrived. Lincoln was taken to Corewell Health in St. Joseph before being airlifted to Grand Rapids for intensive burn care.
Lincoln talks about what he remembers from the accident, the injuries he experienced and the care that helped him make a remarkable recovery. Just six weeks later, he traveled to Morocco for a study-abroad experience.
Hear Lincoln reflect on the accident, his recovery and the healthcare teams who helped him get back to feeling like himself.
