Saying the job has become too politically partisan, St. Joseph County Health Officer Dr. Bob Einterz is resigning effective at the end of March. Einterz and county commissioners have disagreed in the past about public health funding issues, including funding of a behavioral crisis center. The Board of Health will have to find a replacement, but there's no deadline, and they could make the job part or full time.
A Senate committee will hold a hearing later this month to investigate a lack of competition in the ticketing industry. The hearing comes two months after Ticketmaster's chaotic rollout of presale tickets for Taylor Swift's "Eras" tour, which prevented many fans from getting tickets. The company has been accused of price-fixing and antitrust violations. Ticketmaster says it dominates the business because their system is far better than anyone else's.
A French woman who was the oldest known living person in the world died yesterday. She was a nun, Lucile Randon, known as Sister Andre, and she was a few weeks short of her 119th birthday. Born in February of 1904, she lived through two world wars, man's first landing on the moon, and much more. The oldest known person now is a Spanish woman who is 115.
Notre Dame's complete 20-23 football schedule includes the August 26th opener in Ireland against Navy, and a home game September 23rd against Ohio State. The Irish also play at Clemson November 4th.
