A new jury is expected to be selected in the missing campers murder trial in Melbourne. The jury was discharged for technical reasons moments before opening arguments were set to get underway last week. Former airline pilot Greg Lynn is accused of murdering two campers Carol Clay and Russell Hill in Victoria's High Country in 2020.

Four teenage boys have been charged after a dramatic police chase across the Gold Coast. PolAir tracked a stolen car with two of the teens inside to Parkwood. Another two were arrested in Nerang after a silver Maserati crashed into a median strip.

A south-west Sydney street has been hit in what's believed to be the third targeted attack in two weeks a car was found lit in the driveway of a home. The same house was shot at two weeks ago and last week a car was allegedly crashed into and set alight at a neighbour's property.

A bold new plan could see kids under 14 being banned from social media under a nation-leading move being considered by the South Australian government.  But the state's Premier Peter Malinauskas says that rule isn't being enforced and he has now commissioned a review to look at options for a potential ban.

Jim Chalmers is set to put his economic credibility on the line predicting inflation will meet the target band by December. The Treasurer will release his third budget tomorrow which will include the forecast of a rapid decline in inflation hitting the 2 to 3 per cent target by the end of the year. This is in contrast to the RBA's projection that inflation will remain high until the end of 2025.

Jim Chalmers will release his third budget tomorrow which will include the forecast of a rapid fall in inflation hitting the 2 to 3 per cent target by December.
