A hero pilot has been praised after pulling off a miracle landing in the face of a mid-air emergency. Peter Schott had just taken off from Newcastle with passengers Michael and Ines when he realised there was a serious problem with the landing gear. After circling for about 4 hours and burning fuel, he managed to land without any wheels, putting the aircraft safely down on its belly.
For more, former Qantas pilot Richard de Crespigny joins.
