All of Woolies' staff in New Zealand are being equipped with police-style body cameras to help protect them from violent customers. The cameras will only be turned on during a "security incident" and staff are required to inform customers before they start recording. It comes as trials of the new security tactic also ramp up across major supermarkets in Australia.

A man will face court today the fourth and most recent person charged over a violent riot outside a Western Sydney church. Police released images of 11 men they're looking for who they believe were the main instigators of a riot sparked by the stabbing of a bishop. Yesterday afternoon a 23-year-old man turned himself in at Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with riot and attempting an aggravated break with intent.

A man has been shot dead by Queensland police, after opening fire on officers. It's understood the man used a rifle to steal a car before driving along the Bruce Highway and shooting at random. He was intercepted by police at a rest stop at Gindoran where he reportedly pulled a rifle on police and shot at them.

Two Japanese navy helicopters have crashed in the Pacific Ocean during a night-time training flight The two choppers were carrying four crew each and lost contact about 600 kilometres south of Toyko. Navy officials say it's 'highly likely' the two helicopters collided with each other before crashing into the water. The body of one crew member has been recovered seven others are still missing.
