It's been decades in the making but tonight Tasmania will finally have an official Australian Rules Football team. The name, logo, jumper and colours of the 19th Club are set to be revealed in a much-anticipated gala event streamed to nearly 30 live sites around the country as well as on the AFL app.

But it comes as new data reveals only a quarter of Australian parents plan to get their children vaccinated. The driver behind an alleged fatal hit-and-run in Sydney's eastern suburbs is being urged to come forward. Police are appealing for information about the driver of a white Subaru Outback on Fletcher Street in Tamarama. Neighbours have reported hearing a loud noise followed by a car alarm at the time of the incident.

Top End communities are bracing for tropical cyclone Megan to make landfall. The category 3 system is expected to bring wind gusts of up to 220 kilometres per hour when it crosses the coast.
