    Manchester based DJ/producer Antagonist cues up a collection of dense and uncompromising electronic tracks on his R&S Records debut. The ‘Rites’ EP pulls together 5 new tracks that lean on the artist’s drum ‘n’ bass roots and influences, a sound that has informed his DJ sets and studio productions since he launched the project in 2004.
    Channeling his productions towards the more cinematic and darker side of drum ‘n’ bass and broken beats, Antagonist has released a strong run of EPs for labels such as Samurai Music, Ronin Ordinance, One. Seventy and his own Discipline imprint, stamping his hybrid sound across these well received releases.
    Layers upon layers of shadowy ambience and wistful tones are punctured by hard edged beat-science, as Antagonist goes in deep on the complex breakbeats, chopping back and forth knifelike loops and dynamic kicks. A highly accomplished debut for the R&S label from this sonically exciting young producer.

    Nick Warren - Global clubland and production legend, known for Way Out West, The Soundgarden, Global Underground, active since 88.
    Nicolas Rada - DJ'ing and producing professionally since 2007, Argentinian born and long time collaborator with Nick Warren.
    Crisp production, and driving beats alongside the elliptical tones of the original 'Softcastle' release, have been re-dramatised by 'Nick Warren & Nicolas Rada'. This track sits nicely being played anywhere in the world, think 4am in a club, festival or after hours, the sun has not quite hit the curvature of the earth, but it will.

    Dubby electronic music with an indie dance vibe not really fitting any easy genre, slEdger is the latest musical project from London based Dj/Producer Rob Vision.
    Rob has released music under various names over the last 15 years gaining support from people as diverse as John Digweed, Mary Anne Hobbs, Ashley Beedle and Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1, he’s also DJ'ed at various seminal UK clubs like Back To Basics, Elements and Turnmills often playing in the more musically experimental back rooms.
    From being a roadie, drummer, club dj, pirate radio host, club promoter, music pr and booker for other artists, Rob's journey in music has been a varied one to say the least, but with slEdger he may finally have found his musical calling.

    As always, we ask the artists three questions to introduce himself. In
    this case Bene aka Benoir ;)
    1) What is your favorite book to read?
    That's not an easy question because I definitely don't read enough. but at the moment I'm reading the book: "Paris - ein Fest fürs Leben" by Ernest Hemingway and I love the way Hemingway calmly talks about his time and describes life as an artist in Paris.
    2) If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
    There are a lot of good answers for the second question. I think
    speaking for humanity, my superpower would be to end wars and hunger, for me personally the greatest superpower would be to be infinitely free from all constraints and conventions.
    3) What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?
    The longest I was up was like 40 hours when we organized our own open air and were busy throughout the night. Otherwise, sleep is very important to me and you will rarely find me at extended after-hour sessions

    Wonderful track on the wicked album of dear friend Yarni and his partner in crime for this production Give Me Monaco!

    Parenthesis was born out of the creative exchange between Yarni and GMM. The project wasn’t intended to become an album. More so a general swapping of ideas in the hope of composing some music and sharing each other’s experience in their musical fields. What started out as a few unfinished demos became the focal point of reflection. Not that the pandemic became the subject of the record, more so a coincidental catalyst that projected their initial muses to become completed bodies of work. The idea of a Parenthesis casting over the paused pieces became the core concept in which it flourished.
    Exclusive to the Kartel store, the Limited Edition record comes with high-quality digital prints of three single artworks from the Parenthesis project: 'Shroud', 'Chaos' and 'Plucked & Struck'.
    All designs are hand-painted by musician, artist and Parenthesis collaborator, Give Me Monaco.
    Each print will be hand signed and numbered by both artists.
