Over 10 years ago in 2013 I kicked off Sunset Grooves podcast by inviting DJs and artists that I enjoyed listening too. It did not matter what genre, how many followers they had, where they come from but it came down to their love for music and their unique interpretation of what music to play during a sunset. With the number of listeners that followed the podcast it soon became a platform for upcoming and new artists to be discovered by those who love good music.

Soooo, I want to personally thank every single artist who has contributed to 10 years of quality music that has been heard on this podcast. From your unique sets, to sharing premieres from all four corners of the world. Equally thank you to all the listeners who have supported the channel, written comments and gone on to follow the artists :)

10 Year Podcast Mix:

I want to thank all the artists who have shared some unreleased edits and productions with me over the last few years and I wanted to put together a mix with music that has inspired my musical taste the last 10 years, while having never played these tracks in previous mixes :) It is a set that I would play while the sun sets over the Swiss mountains starting off slow and progressively getting more and more intense!

A couple of shoutouts regarding unreleased music, but the list is of course endless for me: Rolandson for the intro inspiration, Orlando 51 for the cinematic discovery, Barda for the downtempo softness, The Scumfrog for being a true music head, K2WO for that new funky rawness, thommie g for his high level of mixing electro with a blend of classics,...

I will stop babbling now and move aside for the music!

Good morning groovers! We have a fun groovy house track for you from Phonk D and Sascha Ciminiera. Perfect for the weekend.

Track Info:

When it comes to delivering high-quality Disco-infused House Music gems, the Darmstadt-based label Footjob, managed by Phonk D, has been second to none for quite some time now. Local heroes such as Le Rubrique, Lukas Lehmann, and Sascha Ciminiera plus internationally acclaimed artists of the likes of Gerd Janson, Shan, and Tilman have already appeared on the interesting German imprint.

Footjob's forthcoming release, the third volume of its acclaimed "Footure Classics" VA series, brings the combination of all-time stars – Lukas, Sascha, and the big boss himself – along with new faces – The Dead Rose Music Company, Siggatunez & Rolf Royce, Claus Casper, Most Haunted, and Disco Sour, resulting in the best instalment of the series so far, in our humble opinion.

Premiered here, Sascha Ciminiera delivers a soulful song with „Ortona Sunset“ in collaboration with Phonk D. With an uptempo percussion groove that meets classical piano, string & bass, the two pay tribute to magical sunsets in Sascha’s hometown of Ortona.

Hello dear groovers, today we have on board a wonderful human being, the cherry on top of the cake, the girl that blossoms throughout the year! Nina aka Cherry Blossomgirl, very rarely puts together a mix tape and therefore we are honored that she has put this special set just for us. In this time of conflict, confusion almost a sense of powerlessness we are very much in need of something that soothes the mind, relaxes the body and makes us float away for a moment in time to help us put things back into context with a new sense of energy!

This delicate mixtape is composed full of carefully chosen gems and will surely make your grey November day so much better you will not see it coming!

Make sure to check her profile out for her other dope mixtapes and of course to follow her wonderful label Downtempo Rituals whom we have supported and been a fan of since it's creation!

We are delighted to have the lovely George Actv on our podcast. A real music lover who plays vinyl and his music selection is absolutely on point. Former resident of the infamous D-Edge club in Sao Palo who now resides in Lausanne and we have had the honor of him playing at one of our afterworks earlier this year. This mix is a top quality vinyl only set!

In Sao Paulo he started performing professionally in 1997, where he was resident DJ D-edge, every Saturday/Sunday after hour. He played practically in all the clubs, underground parties and festivals in Sao Paulo, Hell’s Club, Skoll Beats, TIM festival, etc…. in other states of Brazil and South America too. He also produced his own evenings, such as Sunday Away, every Sunday from 12 p.m. to midnight. During this time, Actv has performed alongside many famous DJs from the global electronic scene such as Jeff Mills, Ricardo Villalobos, AUX 88, UR, Richie Hawtin, Chemical Brothers, SLAM, Aubrey, Mark Ambrose, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Colin Dale, Anthony Rother, Nicolas Lutz, Stacey Pullen, Kenny Larkin, Thomas Melchior, Sven Vath, Magda, Luke Slater, etc.
