Track Info:

Barcelona-based Marginalia returns with the second installment of their Bestiary VA series, featuring twenty-one forward-thinking productions from a diverse roster of rising talents. With @elifmusique at the helm, Bestiary Vol. 2 brings a fresh wave of modernistic underground house and techno to the dancefloor. Highlights include ELIF’s ‘The Artist’ which features David LeSal, Ayan’s hypnotic ‘Within These Walls’, and Mumboi’s enigmatic ‘Puzzlement’. From the cerebral textures of IVGI’s ‘Desert Waves’ to the raw energy of Saint Carmo’s ‘Rhytmamatic’, this compilation is a vibrant showcase of Marginalia’s sonic ethos.

Standout Contributions:

Headlining the compilation, ELIF partners with electro poet David LeSal for ‘The Artist’, a track that embodies the ethereal yet driving ethos of Marginalia. Returning artist Ayan delivers ‘Within These Walls’, a transcendent exploration of melody and rhythm, while contributions from Komilev (‘Skrilla’) and Accent (‘Time’) infuse the compilation with innovative textures and electrifying energy.

Other highlights include Mumboi’s return with the enigmatic ‘Puzzlement’, IVGI’s haunting ‘Desert Waves’, and Sara Bluma’s poignant and raw ‘Blackstef’. From the trippy, genre-bending stylings of Aggernaz (‘Djoya’) to the high-octane energy of Saint Carmo (‘Rhytmamatic’), ‘Bestiary Vol. 2’ is as diverse as it is cohesive, ensuring something for every discerning listener.

Speaking about the project, ELIF said:

“The Bestiary series is my love letter to the incredible under-championed producers whose music shapes the foundation of my DJ sets. It’s a privilege to continue showcasing such remarkable talent and to create a space where their creativity is celebrated. ‘Bestiary Vol. 2’ feels like a natural evolution for Marginalia, and I’m so excited for the world to hear it.”

Now you only got to click play on this mix and be engulfed with a warm fuzzy sensation of being lifted by fluffy clouds to somewhere you can let yourself go in terms of your head space but equally your body. A smooth journey perfect to transition from day into night.

Happy New Year to you all! Sometimes it feels each year goes by quicker and quicker, but it feels good to rewind, slow down and live in the moment!

We are absolutely thrilled to have one of the pioneers of deep, dreamy and electronic grooves. Mark Slee doesn't need any formal introductions, but like all quality artists it is important to provide a little background and context to give you listeners a nugget of information to take away with you :)

He's been on the scene for over 20 years and therefore has an idea of what groove is all about. Teaming up with Atish in 2016 they created the label @manjumasi , which has been a leader in releasing quality deep house productions with a hint of quirkiness to differentiate themselves from the masses. A reference point for the connoisseurs.

Once you click play on this mix you are suddenly already 20 minutes in without even realizing it. "Good" or "Great" DJs is a term that is far too easily used in the current electronic scene, but when you listen to the transitions in this mix, the track selection and the music Journey that Mark brings you on, you can now understand what differentiates your every day DJ to one that actually understands what music is all about.

Many thanks for the dope mix Mark.

2025 begins and we are very happy to present our 11th EP by Dutch producer Volzigt and joined by 3 artists from Mexico, Argentina and Germany. The tracks "Vlerk" and "Vlegel" are named after old Dutch expressions, embodying a playful yet refined attitude. Picture those moments deep into the night, when you glance at your best friend on the dance floor, both of you grinning as a track drops with the perfect amount of dirty groove. That’s the spirit behind this organic house EP—midtempo, just as midtempo should be.
