We are back again with something delightful from one of our talented artists based in Lausanne! Bigraf Co-founder of @la_recre label and half of @groggizzbigraf has put together an exquisite mix taking us on a smooth and calm journey. Originally from Italy, but in Paris and now resides in Lausanne, his multicultural background can be heard in his music selection. We have heard enough bangers lately so what better than to have something to just chill out too while we soak up some of these early summer rays of sunshine!

This mix is the definition of grooves as his masterful selection takes us on a unexpected journey of discovering hidden gems we would have never found ourselves. Viva Viva Malagiunta is the multicultural band by DJs/producers FiloQ (Filippo Quaglia) and Mr.Paquiano (Nahuel Martínez), the first coming from the alleys of Genoa, the second from those of Buenos Aires, supported by the drumming of Matteo Marchese, Italian reference for hip hop and soul beats.

FiloQ and Mr.Paquiano are both producers and "cumbiamasters" of the super-group “Istituto Italiano di Cumbia All Stars”, led by Italian singer and cartoonist Davide Toffolo.

Viva Viva Malagiunta is an ethnomusicology research project exploring the future to find a place in the present.

The sound is stratified, mental and physical, the result of experiences and paths different of the two musicians.

Viscera is the title of their new EP and it’s a tribute to Argentinian “Cumbia Villera”, through four passages, four narrow corridors along theunfinished walls of humble homes shared by people who do not they have nothing to lose and therefore nothing to fear.

The four tracks, dedicated to each street, are called Viscia, Guscio, Descia and (obviously) Cascie. Freaky Latin Downtempo meets instrumental hiphop beats!

Two volumes of remixes crafted by brilliant producers who reinterpret the various and rich musical material of the vinyl “FIRE” recorded during the live performance where the Fire Crew met the Dub Legend.

Kaleidoscopic viewpoints from heterogeneous sound worlds that further expand the horizon of a record that is already a journey in itself. The cover contains a precious gem: the strips of tape that dub master Sherwood placed on the mixer to define the channels during the live performance. The same tracks were used by the remixers for their reworks, adding unique extra layers to this extraordinary collaboration.

This release has had a long time to mature and we are very happy that the harvest has finally been reaped. Two driving organic grooves, littered with lush synths and twirling sounds, pure Copycow gold of outstanding quality planted by our very own Timboletti.

As usual, this time we have two absolute experts to take care of the refinement of the harvest. El Mundo boils "Kava" down into a wonderfully dubby reduced soup flavoured with lots of love and plenty of room for mental digressions. Breger's approach is basically similar, but much more radical. The result is a wonderfully twisted trip to the beach with friends. Relaxing, satisfying, the best thing a Sunday or fun day can be.

1)What book do you like to read?

I’ve recently read the book “The Enneagram” by Richard Rohr &

Andreas Ebert. The Enneagram is a model of the human psyche, a framework to understand the many facets of human personalities. It has really helped me to have a more compassionate view on myself, seeing more clearly my strengths as well as my pitfalls that come naturally with my personality type. If you’re curious I can highly recommend going down that

rabbit hole. I am a Type 3 by the way.

2) If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

My power would be to infect humans with so much love and confidence that they feel in pure alignment with themselves. One could also say, in concord 😉. With that power, we would all be connected to our true inner strength and co-create a utopian world with the unique gifts that have been given to each and everyone of us.

3) How long have you been awake (and why)?

Tricky question. It reminds me of that time back in 2016 when I

spent 2 weeks in a buddhist monastery called “Deer Park Monastery” in Southern California, in the tradition of the peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh.

There, I had an experience that might be called a “Trauma

release” in classical psychological terms. In spiritual terms I would call it an awakening moment for me personally. So from that perspective, it feels like I am in the process of waking up since about eight years. The more pragmatic answer would be: Four hours right now.
