Sunset Grooves

When there is Lui Mafuta and Hug Records combining, you know you're in for a treat. Super dope EP from Haptik & Matalamata!

Track Info:

@Hugrecords is delighted to release this EP of @haptik_musik & @matalamata into the world, with some great remixes by @yasenkrasen, @seebo1 and in this case @luimafuta.

We also want to introduce the human behind the music so please meet one of the Artist behind the original track, Mathis aka Matalamata:

1) What is your favorite book to read?

Siddharta

2)if you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

Hard to decide but I think teleportation if I could take some friends with me.

Or Omnilinguism - Being able to speak every language.

Being able to decide everything really easily would also be a great superpower.

3) What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?

I need a lot of sleep and always try to get enough, even on festivals (one night I slept 12h at fusion). So I never had more than one day+night without sleep I think.

Thanks a lot for your support,

Philippe

Super dope remix on a wicked EP being released on the wonderful Marginalia label!

Track Info:

Paris-based artist I Promised Mom has made a name for himself in the indie dance and melodic scene with his distinctive blend of percussive grooves and dark disco, earning features on labels like Marginalia, Harabe, and Acrylic on Canvas. His track "Phones Away" features New York spoken word poet David LeSal, whose iconic monologue critiques modern dance culture. The track's tense bass and grinding drums create a shadowy atmosphere. Remixers Accent and Alex Medina bring their unique interpretations: Accent’s version is stripped-back and gothic, while Medina adds hypnotic depth with lush synths and fluid beats. The release, from Marginalia, showcases I Promised Mom as a rising talent.

Sunset Location: Kiev, Ukraine

We are very lucky to have Indieveed on board with us despite the ongoing war happening in Ukraine. He has managed to find a moment to share with us his interpretation of what a groovy sunset is and in return let us remind ourselves that, while daily atrocities occur, music knows no borders and offers an escape to recharge our batteries and keep moving forward.

Indieveed represents a new age of Ukrainian artists creating unique sounds through experimentation and "lateral thinking" focused on creating music with melodies and harmonies underpinned by a unique groove, mesmerizing percussions and atmospheric textures.

This mix tape is all of the above and more, easing us into the set smoothly, bringing that intensity in a slow and thoughtful progression of wicked indie dance tracks and groovy vocals in the second part of the set.

Thank you Aleks for this wicked mix!

Absolute banger of a track! Combining minimal tech grooves with some haunting vocals perfect to get sweaty on an intimate dancefloor!

Track Info:

We are excited to present Joma Route’s new EP, "Down". This work stands out for its unmistakable combination of soothing vocals and enveloping guitars that, together with a production full of emotion and sensitivity, create a unique style.

The first track, Down, perfectly captures Joma Route’s smooth, elegant, and energetic style. The remix by South African Malik Faquir takes it to a more minimalist and groovy territory, while Miret’s remix fuses his organic and electronic touch, creating a vibrant and original atmosphere.

Planning, powerful and minimalist, is charged with emotion. The reinterpretation by Soble, surprises with an intimate and very elegant journey.

To close the EP, White & Blue immerses us in Joma Route’s inner world and soundscapes, while Sydney Seymour’s remix leads us straight to the dancefloor with an irresistible groove.

Sunset Location: Beijing, China

As promised we are back on a regular basis. Having heard Xia Ke's live mixes earlier this year, it was a matter of time before we heard some slow tech grooves blended with some moody downtempo basslines on the channel. Founder of the wicked label Autumn Equinox (@autumnequinoxlabel), Xia Ke knows all about discovering the hidden gems within niche genres of electronic music and once you click play and just let yourself ride along on his musical journey, you will discover something fresh, new and in simple words bad ass! What is different about this mix is that it starts fast paced and slows down as you go along.

When it comes to putting a "type" of music to Xia's style it would be along the lines of "orientempo" as described by himself where he experiments with a soundscape that is unique to him. It would be hard to classify with any current downtempo sub genre, which is exactly why we love it as it is different. In today's "music" world, being different is so important to ensure we remain creative! Now you have some background information, click play and listen, groove, bob your head and enjoy!

Make sure to follow Xia Ke and his label to follow his journey and also to be aware of future slow tech releases!

Thank you for this wicked mix.

Up next we have a super dope remix by one of our favorite producers. Always bringing the best out of electronic music and pushing certain boundaries while keeping that groovyness that we love!

Track Info:

Legend speaks of Iram of the Pillars, a grand city hidden deep in the Arabian Desert, renowned for its beauty and wealth. Ruled by a wise king, its gleaming pillars, crafted from precious stones, guided travelers from afar.

We are very happy to give our 8th edition of EP directly from Lisbon, Portugal by Dishich. Combining deep, dark and slowtech vibes this EP is full of stories and magic from track 1 to all the remixes.

Remixes include Mexican talent Neo´Okai, Emorine, Sangeet and Jovoj, each one repesenting its own perspective of this mystic story… We hope you enjoy as we did :)
