Singer Songwriter Charley Crockett is such an authentic artist. He has lived one hell of a life to write about at 39 years old, so maybe thats why and how he has written and released 15 albums of songs which he tours around the globe performing. It wasn't always the 'big stage' for Charley, he was homeless for many years and busking on the streets to survive, not to mention he also was a marijuana farmer who spent some time in Jail. Hailing from a small poor city in South Texas provided little opportunity, but Charley always had one constant in his life... and that was music. Even the music of Bill Withers, which when Charley found out that Bill had recorded his amazing debut album "Just As I Am" here at Sunset Sound, he knew he had to record there too. Guitarist, singer and songwriter Clementine Creevy is ‘Cherry Glazerr’ and Cherry Glazerr is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2013. Clem's sound has transitioned from lo-fi and garage rock on her debut release Hazel Princess in 2014 to a more polished rock sound, with elements of grunge, punk and new wave on their subsequent releases Apocalipstick and Stuffed & Ready. Apocalipstick was produced and engineered by Joe Chiccarelli who resides here at the Sunset complex and this is just a fun, goofy, vulnerable interview about a powerhouse in the future of rock and indie music.

The incomparable and complete legendary figures of musician songwriters David Paich and Steve Porcaro can only be told in "Wow". Sunset Sound was the tracking recording studio for Toto IV, Hydra and about a 1000 other sessions with these two guys playing massive roles. The idea of the Sunset Roundtable is to have a free discussion about memories at this legendary facility, as well as learning about the person's growth in life and their career throughout the time period making records here at the studio. David Paich speaks sincerely on his father Marty, as well as Steve with Drum legend father, Steve Porcaro. We all agree that Jeff Porcaro might be the greatest drummer ever and that there is an everlasting magic of this recording studio which is still alive today. Steve and David both share on working with Don Henley , Michael Jackson , Quincy Jones and the absolute praise for their brother guitarist Steve Lukather. Toto IV stories are the best ever & they set the record straight on drug use in the 1980's and this is one of the funnest, coolest roundtables around one of the most significant bands and people to grace this series.

Well, Allen is a Legendary Recording Engineer, a Multi Studio Owner, He Designs Speakers, he's a Record Producer & Businessman and what doesn't he do is a better question!

Today Allen Sides sits down with Drew Dempsey in Studio 2 at Sunset Sound as well as a few special guests, the first one being 10x Grammy Winning Recording Engineer & Producer Joe Chiccarelli,  the next is Sunset Sound studio owner Paul Camarata to complete the Roundtable. Allen started his Ocean Way Recording brand in a garage in Santa Monica, California in 1968. It was only meant as a place to showcase his custom monitors. From these humble beginnings the empire expanded to include partnering with Bill Putnam and acquiring his United Recording Studio in Hollywood and building state of the art recording facilities in Nashville, St. Barths, and nearby Sherman Oaks. The Ocean Way "brand" also includes Allen's high-end (and excellent sounding) monitors, a unique and affordable microphone, excellent UAD plug-ins, drum samples, and even an iPad/iPhone app. Allen is also well known for being a meticulous engineer/producer, having worked with such artists as Phil Collins, Green Day, Eric Clapton, Faith Hill, Wynonna Judd, Beck, Mary J. Blige, Ry Cooder, Joni Mitchell, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, André Previn, Michael Jackson, and Frank Zappa. He's also well known for leading the charge on reclaiming classic tube mics and gear that was being abandoned in the '80s; he has probably listened to, and evaluated, more microphones than most of us ever will. Having owned Record One Studio in the hey-day of recording, Allen was very open about the Michael Jackson sessions as well as selling the establishment to Rap Mogul Dr. Dre.  Allen has since sold Ocean Way Recording Studio and is now fully engulfed in the speaker business.

Legendary Prince Recording Engineer Susan Rogers returns to studio 3 at Sunset Sound with friend Duane Tudahl to sit down with Drew Dempsey and tell her story. Susan was a pioneer for women in the recording industry and worked with Prince on his biggest albums.
