Hey yall. Happy Sunday. In this week's episode, I review an article entitled Menstruation Vacation. I found it very interesting. According to the article, this is no medical need to have a monthly period. Of course, we have heard this before but I have mixed feelings about it. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Have a fantastic week Loves.
Hey yall. Happy Sunday! Season 2 Episode 9 I talk about how so incredibly happy I am this election cycle is coming to an end. It's been stressful. More importantly, I can't believe we have a Black Woman VP of the United States! I'm so over the moon. To see all the people celebrating all across the world has been surreal and rewarding. Decency wins! I'm so happy for Senator Kamala Harris. This is definitely a win for team #BlackGirlMagic. I am eager to see the working relationship Joe Biden and Kamala Harris create together.
I also talked about an article I found-The Yeast Beast by Vikki Mioduszewski. I learned a few different things I didn't know about vaginal fungal infections. It is pretty interesting if you ask me. Check it out and share this episode with a friend.
I hope everyone has a great week. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @supercytogirl, the same on Facebook.

Hey, my loves. Happy Sunday. I'm bringing you a solo episode this week telling you about why Super Cyto Girl is going away. I know, I know. It's not as bad as it sounds though. Rebranding is on the way. I'm Excited! To be honest, when I first released the show, I knew then I would have to rebrand and that's okay! I am truly the poster child for learning as I go. I look forward to this new season.
I also talked about taking a trip to my home city Memphis TN, and being recharged by the love I felt during that trip. During these trying uncertain times, it's so important to feed our emotional bodies too.
I hope you all have an amazing week.

She owns two businesses: A-Plus Events and Consulting (event planning services) and Sassy Cocktails (mobile bartending). Ashley came to chat about her experiences with pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood. Most recently, she experienced giving birth during a pandemic and discovering her new baby has Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome. October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. The purpose of this awareness month is to raise public awareness and advocate for inclusion for individuals with Down Syndrome. I applaud Ashley for her grace, strength, and willingness to share her story.

Hey yall. Happy Sunday. I hope you all are getting a great start to your week. In today's episode, I talk about maintaining mental clarity by listening to my body and having a good self-care regime. This weekend my self-care consisted of a high-intensity workout, mediation, and quality time with my tiny human. Did you watch the vice-presidential debate? I won't go into a lot of detail but I'll just say I'll be glad when Black women can show up in the world as we choose. To hear some of the things that have been said about Kamala Harris since the debate is extremely frustrating and annoying frankly. Seems like Black women's actions are always being picked apart. Will it ever end?
I also talked about how there are plans to remove Pap Tests as a primary screening tool for eradicating cervical cancer. That's a scary thought. The Pap Test has been an effective tool used to screen for cervical cancer over the last 50 years. It's baffling to me that is even a consideration. The rationale is that HPV tests are more sensitive and thus a more effective screening tool for cervical cancer care. While I am a believer in science and research, as someone who has screened GYN specimens for abnormal lesions myself, I can say with certainty that every woman is different and this one size fits all approach will be of detriment to women. Although Pap tests are designed specifically to detect cervical cancer, we are able to see cell changes associated with Herpes infections, hormonal changes, cancerous lesions of the endometrium, and many other things. To take away the Pap Tests means that these conditions might go undetected and untreated.
Do yall know they have started doing uterus transplants? I don't know what to say about it. I know I don't plan to donate my uterus but check out this article and tell me what you think...Uterus Transplants.

Hey yall. Happy Sunday! This week's episode features LaToya Dwight of The Fibroid Pandemic, LLC. She and I chatted about how she felt inspired to form her brand The Fibroid Pandemic after she herself was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. During a routine visit, Latoya went from being told that she had uterine fibroids, to receiving a recommendation to proceed with a hysteractomy all within a matter of minutes. This triggered a more than 4 year span of research, gathering data and resources about uterine fibroids. The mission of this research was to not only help herself but to help other women suffering with uterine fibroids. If you or someone you know suffers from uterine fibroids, you really want to check out this episode.
You can find LaToya and information about The Fibroid Pandemic on Instagram @TheFibroidPandemic, on Facebook on the Fibroid Pandemic's private Facebook group- The Fibroid Pandemic, and www.thefibroidpandemic.com.

Hey yall! Oh my goodness. It's been so long since we have chatted! I apologize because It's totally my fault. I moved from Tennessee to Florida over the summer. Although I am loving my new location, this move was much more on my mind than I anticipated. I had a very ambitious goal of only taking 30 days off from the podcast but honestly, I just couldn't do it. I talk more about what this move has been for me and how I have been having some real internal struggles in this season premiere. I also talk about how I received help from two unexpected (but very much appreciated) places during my time away.
I have some awesome episodes scheduled for this season. In the next coming weeks, we will discuss the topics of uterine fibroids, postpartum depression, and some of the experiences Black trans women face in today's society. Our guests for these episodes include LaToya Dwight of the Fibroid Pandemic, LLC. out of Atlanta, Georgia, Tara Seay of Universal Parenting Place and Jasmine Tasaki of We Care Tennessee both out of Memphis, TN.
Mentioned in this episode- Robbie Green who is also known as The Working Mom's Coach. @the_working_moms_coach on Instagram. She was featured before on the podcast on Season 1 episode 11.
