Back to back Netflix films are here to keep us busy as we are slowly transitioning into spooky season with lots more horror releases coming soon which is a nice change of pace going into the final months of perhaps the strangest year in existence. This week we get to discuss an A-list cast featuring some of our favorite actors that have featured many times on the show and some who are more new to the genre. Even with Matt’s voice trying it’s hardest to give up during the show we still have one of our most interesting conversations of 2020 so far. Elsewhere this week, FrightFest gets a full lineup for October though there’s a high chance it may be going just digital again. Run gets a new release date in the states. And Shudder continues to impress us with some impressive numbers.

A sequel to a film we covered way back in 2017 was released this past week on Netflix so we thought it only made sense to sit down and see how much we actually remember of the original film that seems like a lifetime ago now. Once we actually figured out what happened in that film we then decided to watch the new film and give our thoughts on this somewhat surprising sequel. Elsewhere this week: Candyman gets delayed. Scream 5 gets its biggest casting update yet. The Walking Dead will be over relatively soon. And ending the show we give some spoiler free thoughts on a little film called Tenet.

After the long crazy weekend that was FrightFest; we are back once again to the cinema for a film that felt like it would never get released. The New Mutants promises to deliver a superhero story told in a horror film which certainly grabbed our attention. But after numerous delays and production problems; can this film actually deliver a much needed surprise in a year that desperately needs it? Let’s find out. We are back with the final part of our FrightFest coverage for 2020 with the last SEVEN films we saw at this year's festival. This includes everything from indie filmmaking documentaries, hilarious Aussie comedies, a bloodbath at a water park and yet another anthology. As well as these individual film discussions we also give our overall thoughts on the festival, what we missed about going to London for the usual show and what films were our absolute favourites this year. Even though it wasn’t the usual festival we still had a great time seeing some terrible and some great films and are eagerly awaiting the lineup announcement for October which arrives very soon.

With just one week to go until FrightFest goes digital for the first time; we are back to Shudder with another new horror release. Random Acts of Violence sees a horror comic book come to life and with a cool premise and familiar cast we were excited to check this one out. We give our verdict on whether it’s another fine addition to the streaming platform's wonderful growing catalogue; or something you should avoid. Elsewhere this week; Samara Weaving talks about Scream 5 to the surprise of no one. The Batman trailer completely floored us. And we give our thoughts on season 2 of NOS4A2 so far after one of our favorite shows of 2019 returned to continue the story of Charlie Manx.

It has finally happened. After a 5 month wait we have finally returned to the big screen. Seeing a film that certainly wasn’t top of our most anticipated list but looked very interesting nonetheless. Spree follows Joe Keery on his crazy trip to internet stardom doing whatever it takes to go viral. We discuss everything about this film from Youtuber/streamer antics to beloved Stranger Things actors doing something different and taking a chance. Elsewhere this week; Blumhouse is releasing a whole host of new horror films this Halloween. Jordan Peele seems to be gearing up for his next film. We have loads of new films to look forward to over the coming weeks and months. And we once again saw a Wes Craven film on the big screen and we need to discuss why it’s somehow still underrated to this day.

Continuing to try and find the best indie horror films as the big releases continue to evade us for the time being; this week sees us discuss the directorial debut of Dave Franco. With an all star cast for such a small film we had high hopes for whatever type of horror film this is. Elsewhere this week, Antebellum gets an interesting new release. So does Run as Lionsgate look to rethink their upcoming release schedule. Fear Street looks headed to Netflix next year. With our first new horror film we discussed in 2 months we are more than ready to dive straight back into what 2020 horror looks like without theatrical releases for the foreseeable future. And it’s looking more and more likely to be spent on Shudder.
