January 27, 2021#SHB232 - Psycho GoremanIt’s finally here. The film that for some reason Matt has been hyped about for over a year has arrived. Psycho Goreman is the name and you’d best not forget it. Bringing slapstick comedy, amazing practical effects and more references/homages than you can count; we really hoped this film would deliver what we needed right now. Let’s find out if it did. If it doesn’t we may just cry. Elsewhere this week; every horror film gets delayed once again. Godzilla vs Kong looks dumb but in a good way. And ending the show Matt discusses a childhood favourite he revisited that perhaps doesn't age that well and Mike continues to dive deep into Second Sight’s amazing Dawn of the Dead release.Psycho Goreman is available on digital services worldwide now and is coming to Shudder later this yearFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. January 20, 2021#SHB231 - SynchronicSci-fi has treated us well in the early weeks of this year so far so we are back to discuss another trippy, high concept film that we hopefully enjoy as much as we did with Possessor. Synchronic is about a crazy new drug that alters your state to a completely different level than we’ve ever seen before; but does it deliver the great original science fiction that we were after? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Nicholas Cage is in an insane new trailer for a film just around the corner. Godzilla vs Kong gets a closer release date which is rare these days. And ending the show Matt watches an 80’s classic for the first time and also highly recommends one of the best Arrow Video releases to date.Synchronic is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. January 13, 2021#SHB230 - Hunter HunterContinuing to try and find the very best of the horror genre we are back to discuss a film that got quite a bit of buzz last month upon release; boasting the praise of many people within the horror community including one Mike Flanagan. We watched Hunter Hunter knowing almost nothing about the film going in, not even a plot synopsis and give our thoughts on whether it’s praise was worthy or not. Elsewhere this week; The Woman in the Window is headed to Netflix. Wrong Turn may be out very soon. And Saint Maud finally gets a release date for the US. We end the show by talking about the same tv series and film we discuss pretty much every week at this point.Hunter Hunter is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. January 06, 2021#SHB229 - PossessorHappy new year! We hope 2021 brings us plenty of new and original horror films and hopefully not more delays. The first film on the agenda is one we just missed out on it’s initial cinema release late last year. Possessor has a very cool concept and a very striking poster. With Brandon Cronenberg’s latest; does the apple fall far from the tree? We shall see. Elsewhere this week. Mike Flanagan has no plans for more Haunting seasons. Resident Evil wraps filming. And finally we discuss the future of the show going forward this year and plans for potentially more Wes Craven retrospectives to look forward to.Possessor is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice.
