Super League Pod

Another busy week in Rugby League. The the Awards & Man of Steel were announced just before we recorded, with of course our focus being on Fred's artwork. There's so much going on in the news that the obligatory Tim referee fight chat was easy to fit in. In the match reviews, we discuss teams who got their intensity right and teams who got it way off. We then make our guesses and reveal your poll results as we preview the Super League Grand Final. We finish with a Dream Team history lesson in the quiz. Before more slipper talk.

Now then listeners, Mark is joined by Aussie based Rich Wilkinson and the thunder from down under Paul Craig to have a look at British players in the NRL. We start with a retrospective looking at the players who've made the trip down under in the last decade. Then we look at how our boys in Aus might fare in 2020, with a special focus on George Williams' move to Canberra. Then we look ahead to Luke Thompson and the players that might follow him in future years, what that means to the NRL, Super League and the international game. Loads to chew over, we hope you enjoy it!

The last in our Testimonial Year mini-series of player profiles is Wakefield Trinity's Danny Brough. Unfortunately the stars didn't line up to get an interview with Danny into the show, so Mark and Alan take you through some of his career highlights instead.
We also take the time to recognise a player who will now always be tragically linked to Danny, by shining a brief spotlight too on the career highlights of Mose Masoe.

We're back with another Testimonial Year player special. This time it's Warrington Wolves' prop forward Mike Cooper.
Sarah had a chance to chat to Mike, then Mark will give you the lowdown on his top flight career to date.
Please listen, share & support Mike's testimonial year!

This episode, it's the turn of Castleford Tigers captain Michael Shenton to get the SLP Testimonial treatment.
Although we couldn't get a player interview this time, instead we got an SLP legend to talk about a Castleford legend, as we talk to Fatboy Rob about the Cas captain.
Please listen & share!

Our next Super League Testimonial Year chat is with Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook.
Hear what LMS has to say about his career so far, what's coming up in his Testimonial Year and which St Helens teammate he likes annoying the most!

We're back with our second 2020 Testimonial Year player interview. This time we get to hear about the highlights of Liam Farrell's career as thw Wigan Warriors 2nd rower joined us for a chat.
Find out details on his testimonial season and those all important SLP stats!
Finally, on this show, we give a quick mention to Leeds Rhinos legends Rob Burrow and Jamie-Jones Buchanan as we put this out the day after their very emotional Headingley farewell.

We had the chance to interview Jermaine McGillavry ahead of his Testimonial v Halifax.
Hear what he has to say about his career so far and what's coming up in his Testimonial Year. We'll also give you the lowdown on his career and all important SLP stats.
