Lauren Farr grew up in the US, but now happily calls Berlin, Germany home. As she is beginning to build a community and lay down roots in Berlin, she talks about all of the obstacles and experiences that led her up to the point of being able to take her big leap of faith into the unknown. Moving to a new country far from home and not knowing the language is not for the faintest of heart. Lauren has been graciously adjusting to her new life and also exploring new sides of herself. Although she has mainly expressed herself and her creativity through figure skating, she is excited to find new ways to channel her creativity and help others. Caitlin works as a dog handler living in an isolated cabin with no running water out in Rural Alaska on a quest for growth and self-development. She cared for 40 sled dogs that were training to race in the Yukon Quest. Her living situation was minimal to say the least. Even more interesting were the hidden blessings she found while living in such a remote and wild place of the US. She got water from a well, took a shower in some makeshift contraption and had to microwave water to comfortably wash her face. We chat about the adaptability of the human spirit and how we can do hard things.
