This week we're joined by the founders of 3 SuperRare Spaces.

SuperRare Spaces are independently run storefronts on SuperRare that can curate art and artists, promote sales, run auctions, and collect commissions. New Spaces are proposed to the DAO and voted on by token holders. If approved by the community, a new gallery space is run by its own operating team, which could be a traditional art gallery, a DAO, an artist collective, or any other organization that curates and promotes art. The goal of Spaces is to expand the pool of curatorial talent in the SuperRare ecosystem, empower those curators, and provide new avenues for artists to mint and sell their work. Today we’ll be discussing how each of these operators discover new talent, their vision for the future of their Space, and how you can get on their radar.

This week Oli from SuperRare Labs leads the feature conversation.

Most people in this space are not strangers to the culture’s widespread technophobic response to the growth of NFTs but, of course, technophobia isn’t something new, or something restricted to NFTs. In fact, in the 19th century United States, there was a technophobic backlash against the rapid adoption of railroad travel. People claimed, without justification, that riding so fast would likely cause dislocation of muscles or bones, and disrupt the nervous system.

Episode six of SuperRare Sessions with Benjamin White, Oli Scialdone and Luke Whyte. This week Luke leads an interview with renowned artist and documentary photographer Robert LeBlanc.

Robert spent five years photographing the sermons, culture, and people of, “The House of The Lord Jesus”, a church in the quiet town of Squire, West Virginia with a population of less than 300 people. During services, the pastors will handle live rattlesnakes and drink “deadly things”, like the neurotoxin strychnine. Robert’s work, titled GLORYLAND, has resulted in a series of photos minted on SuperRare, a beautiful artbook, and an exhibition with the Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles.

Curated in partnership with World of Women to highlight and celebrate the rising female creators and innovators across web3, this showcase highlights a diverse array of artworks by five different female artists addressing the complexities of gender within the art market and beyond.

Mind the Gap has been showcased with a physical exhibition in London with LWLW3 on Monday and will have one tonight in Los Angeles at Art Angels. In collaboration with our gallery and organizational partners, World of Women and SuperRare aim to reach a broad audience, giving these female creators a global platform, both online at SuperRare and IRL through exhibitions.
