Timothy Herrington Jr., the man accused of killing Ole Miss student Jimmie “Jay” Lee, will appear in court for his retrial in December, but in a different venue than the one in which he was initially tried. On Tuesday, a judge ordered the retrial to occur in Madison County — a little over two hours south of Oxford, where Herrington’s case was first presented in front of a jury. The venue change was requested by the defendant’s legal team, which argued that Herrington would not receive a fair trial in Oxford due to the extensive media coverage surrounding the case.

A Florence daycare worker is facing multiple charges after investigators say she abused children in her care. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department arrested Sharon Elaine Young on Tuesday, charging her with seven counts of contributing to the neglect of a child. Plus, residents in Alcorn County are being advised to secure their vehicles and remove any valuables, including firearms, from them. According to the Sheriff's Department, there's been a string of vehicle thefts near County Road 614 and County Road 602.

Coffee lovers are paying higher prices, and coffee suppliers are trying to combat that. Roasted coffee prices have jumped 22% in the past year, the biggest increase in any item tracked by the government.
