The suspect involved in a standoff with deputies in Rankin County on Saturday is in custody and facing several charges. A resident at the Alpine Mobile Home Park told deputies that when she refused to open the door for Charles Lovorn Jr., he broke the window to gain entry. During a verbal altercation, he allegedly broke several items in the home. At one point, he left the residence, retrieved a handgun, discharged two rounds, and fled. Hours later, a deputy located Lovorn at the Lakeshore Point Apartment Complex. He refused to exit the apartment, which led to a short standoff, but he eventually surrendered.
