Mississippi ranks 3rd in the nation for the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease among adults over 65, and Hinds County ranks 5th nationally among other counties. According to the Alzheimer's Association, more than 7 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer's disease, a number that's projected to nearly double by 2050. The Mississippi Department of Health is encouraging folks to stave off the disease by making intentional daily decisions to improve their brain health.
