We talk about being self-taught, moving from photography into stone and sculpture, the ancient energy of stone and writing as a form of channeling. And what happens when you stop overthinking and allow intuition to lead the way.
For our ongoing podcast series, a Supervox + other circle collaboration, we talk to creatives about their practice. All episodes are recorded at other circle in 2026.
Episode 001 is hosted by Anna Fernsten Nilén.

Sara Källström, director of Millesgården, on stewardship, public programming and the exhibition “Life in Color & Form”, exploring the world of textile artist Barbro Nilsson and Robert Nilsson.
Pontus Kipowski from the International Authors' Stage at Kulturhuset on how to build a programme, what makes a great author conversation, and the literature prize with its shortlist dropping September 23. "I am very interested in understanding the self and how we build our truths... For me as a curator, I feel responsibility in making art happen." — Fatoş Üstek
Fatoş Üstek is an independent curator, writer and cultural leader who has directed the Liverpool Biennial and Roberts Institute of Art.
Before entering the art world she studied abstract mathematics. Her projects include fig 2 at ICA London, where she produced 50 exhibitions in 50 consecutive weeks, and several editions of Frieze Sculpture.
We talk about mathematics, fair pay, institutional change and the reality of making ambitious art projects happen. And why Fatoş sees that responsibility as central to being a curator.

Jonas Hartz joins SUPERVOX to talk about working across creative fields and what he calls social design. Creating places where food, music, sound and atmosphere help people meet and feel something, without the design itself taking over.
We talk about Louche, a new restaurant and bar opening in Kødbyen, Copenhagen, and how details like acoustics, layout and curation shape the experience.
Jonas takes us back to Subkult in 1996, an 18 day hip hop and graffiti event in Pakhus 11 that brought international artists to Copenhagen and became part of a formative moment in the city’s creative scene.
He also talks about an archive of hundreds of live painted canvases from Copenhagen, Stockholm and Zurich that has been sitting out of sight for 30 years and might finally be opened up.

"I think it’s okay to be a little bit funny. And I take being funny very seriously." — Martha Hviid
Martha Hviid is a Danish artist working across sculpture, installation, drawing, sound, text and scent.
Her work explores how we experience things through our bodies and senses, and how familiar materials can suddenly become playful, strange or unsettling.
We talk about choosing art over architecture, humour, public space and why an artwork might make you want to touch it, or even lick it. There is also tactility, language, AI and the question of what sculpture can actually do.

Julie Leopold, founder of Enter Art Fair, joins SUPERVOX in Copenhagen to talk about building an international art fair from scratch.
Trained as a business lawyer, Julie found her way into the art world through Art Copenhagen and became drawn to the people, the energy and the shared obsession around art.
We talk about launching Enter in 2019 with just 30 galleries, reopening during the pandemic and how that unexpected moment helped put the fair on the map.
Now in its eighth edition, Enter brings together 88 galleries from around the world. Julie also talks about why the small things matter, from daylight and fresh air to coffee, food and all the practical details that can make an art fair actually feel good to visit.

Susan Cipolla joins SUPERVOX in Copenhagen to talk about the work of her late husband, British photographer David McCabe, and what it means to care for his archive and legacy.
We talk about McCabe’s 1964 commission to photograph Andy Warhol for a year, the trust he built inside the Factory, and the people who appear in those early images, from Salvador Dalí to Leo Castelli and James Rosenquist.
Susan talks about editions, selling the work and her wish to keep both the photographs and the stories around them alive.
We also hear about her own path, from fashion styling in New York to designing homes, and a major David McCabe exhibition opening at Kunsten in Aalborg in January 2027.

"We would always place an artist in the mix, because if you choose the right artist, they will ask questions that the others can't answer." — Simon Friese
Simon Friese is a cultural entrepreneur and founder of Creator Projects, a Copenhagen based art agency bringing contemporary art into public and everyday spaces. He also helped establish CHART Art Fair in 2013.
We talk about public space, ambitious commissions and what happens when art and architecture meet. Simon talks about risk, collaboration and working with artists including Pipilotti Rist and Daniel Buren.
We also get into how art can create lasting value for a city and the people living in it.

Sara Berner Bengtsson, director of Market Art Fair in Stockholm, joins SUPERVOX in Copenhagen for what she calls an art fair nerd perspective.
We talk about Chart and Enter, why fairs are just as much about people as the art, and how her team looks at everything from signage and lighting to sponsor activations and small practical details.
Sara talks about moving Market from Liljevalchs to a new warehouse like venue in Stockholm, a change that felt risky at first but opened up completely new possibilities.
We also talk about children’s spaces, parallel fairs, sponsorship and business models, and what Stockholm might learn from the way Copenhagen works with art in public space.

Alice Goodwin joins SUPERVOX to talk about moving from London to Copenhagen and building a career writing about Nordic contemporary art for publications including Frieze, ArtReview, The New York Times and Wallpaper.
We talk about why Nordic art still gets far less international attention than Scandinavian design and lifestyle, and how surprisingly little the Nordic countries sometimes know about each other’s art scenes.
Alice talks about her background in 19th century British art, how she approaches studio visits and the responsibility that comes with translating an artist’s work into words.
We also talk about what is happening in Denmark right now, from artist run spaces and a new generation of gallerists to more international voices and growing attention around Greenlandic artists.
