When someone is given the news that they are losing their sight, it can be emotionally devastating for the individual and their family. RNIB is working to provide Eye Clinic Liaison Officers (ECLOs) for every eye clinic to provide immediate and tailored support to help people on the path to recovery. There is a wide range of support from independent mobility training to learning how to use the latest assistive technology but it's all done at the patient's pace.
