2:30 - 11:20 The Value in Non-Shared Experience
11:20 - Wrap Up
Hello Everyone,
Hope all is well.
Welcome to another segment on Mental Health, this week ☺️!
In today's conversation, we're talking about our non-shared lived experiences.
Specifically, the people, places, and situations that we've experienced that others struggle to relate with. Even if others experienced similarly, the interplay between our personality, preferences, and disposition, confronted with the unfolding of the specific events or circumstances make these experiences personal, non-shared, and un-relatable.
These also somehow end up being the moments in life that fundamentally changed the way we see the world around us. This shift in perspective and worldview can feel alienating, and can also leave us feeling unheard, misunderstood, and alone.
But only for a time ☺️.
While we may not find solace in the comforts that supported who we once were, it's always worth the investment to find alignment in people, interests and settings that best reflect who we have become now.
Whether people choose to acknowledge it or not, much of who we are is grounded in our non-shared experiences. As we heal, these become those pivotal moments and core memories that serve us, rather than hold us down.
