Does struggling with anxiety mean you don’t trust God enough?
For many Christian women, anxiety brings a second layer of guilt: racing thoughts, fear, sleepless nights, and then the question, “If my faith were stronger, wouldn’t this go away?”
In this episode of Supporting Sisters, Kim Chalmers takes a biblical and practical look at anxiety—what it is, how Scripture speaks to an anxious heart, and how Christian women can respond with truth, prayer, healthy habits, and compassionate support.
You’ll learn how anxiety can affect the mind and body, how to recognize anxious thought patterns, and how passages such as Matthew 6, Philippians 4, Romans 12, 1 Peter 5, and Isaiah 41 can help redirect fear toward God’s truth.
Kim also shares practical tools you can use when anxiety feels overwhelming, including grounding techniques, breathing exercises, journaling, Scripture meditation, creating healthier thought boundaries, improving rest, breaking overwhelming tasks into smaller steps, and knowing when it may be time to seek professional support.
And if you’re walking alongside someone who struggles with anxiety, this episode offers an important reminder: sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is listen, stay present, offer practical support, and speak truth with gentleness rather than trying to fix everything.
Anxiety does not have to define you.
God invites us to bring our fears, worries, and overwhelmed hearts into His presence.
If this episode encourages you, share it with another woman who may need to hear it today.

Rejection can make you question everything.
Why wasn’t I chosen?
Why did they walk away?
What’s wrong with me?
Why does this hurt so much?
Whether rejection comes from a friendship, family member, job, relationship, or even someone within the church, the pain is real. But rejection does not get to determine your worth, your identity, or your future.
In this episode of Supporting Sisters: A Biblical Approach to Mental Health, Kim Charmers looks at what Scripture teaches about rejection—and how we can move through it without allowing bitterness, shame, or the need for approval to take control.
We’ll look at the rejection Jesus experienced, the danger of allowing other people’s opinions to define us, and practical biblical steps toward healing.
You’ll discover how to:
• Bring the pain of rejection honestly before God
• Separate what happened to you from who you are
• Recognize when rejection is attacking your identity
• Forgive without pretending the hurt didn’t happen
• Pursue peace while maintaining healthy boundaries
• Replace lies with truth from Scripture
• Support another Christian woman who is struggling with rejection
• Trust that God can sometimes use rejection as redirection
Jesus understood rejection personally. He was misunderstood, abandoned, mocked, and rejected—and yet He never allowed the approval of people to determine His identity or His mission.
That same truth can anchor us today.
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” — John 15:18
Rejection may hurt.
It may shape a season.
But it does not have to define your story.
Your identity is not determined by the people who reject you, but by the One who chose you, loves you, and will never leave you.

Grief can affect far more than our emotions. It can cloud our thinking, exhaust our minds, break our hearts, challenge our faith, and leave us wondering where God is in the middle of our pain.
In Season 2, Episode 2 of Supporting Sisters: A Biblical Approach to Mental Health, Kim Chalmers takes an honest and compassionate look at grief through the lens of Scripture.
What happens to our minds when we're grieving?
Is it wrong for a Christian to feel angry, confused, overwhelmed, or numb?
Where is God when the valley seems endless?
And how can we truly support a sister who is grieving without offering empty answers or trying to “fix” her pain?
Through the examples of Job, David, and Jesus, Kim reminds us that grief is not evidence of weak faith. Scripture gives us permission to lament, cry, question, mourn, and still cling to God.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• How grief impacts the mind, memory, focus, and emotions
• Why grief and faith can exist at the same time
• What Job teaches us about honest lament
• How David brought his pain directly to God
• Why Jesus' own grief matters when we are suffering
• What Psalm 23 teaches about walking through the valley
• How God's comfort comes through Scripture, prayer, and His people
• Practical ways to support someone who is grieving
• Why listening and simply being present can matter more than advice
• How healing doesn't mean forgetting what was lost
Grief changes us—but we do not have to walk through it alone.
God does not wait for us to clean up our emotions before coming near. He meets us in the valley, walks beside us, and gives His people the opportunity to help carry one another's burdens.
If you know a sister who is walking through loss right now, consider sharing this episode with her.
Supporting Sisters with Kim Chalmers is a podcast devoted to helping Christian women navigate the struggles of the mind and heart through biblical truth, compassionate conversation, and practical encouragement.

Have you ever walked away from a conversation wondering, “Why did I say that?” The problem may be deeper than your choice of words or tone.In the Season 2 premiere of Supporting Sisters, biblical counselor Kim Chomers explores the connection between our hearts, minds, and communication. Jesus taught that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45). Our words are not merely accidental reactions—they often reveal the fears, wounds, desires, pride, bitterness, or grace already living within us.Discover why lasting change does not begin with simply managing your mouth, but with allowing God to transform your heart. Kim shares biblical guidance for speaking with honesty, kindness, truth, and grace—even during difficult conversations. You will also learn five practical ways to support a sister who is struggling with communication:• Look beyond her words to what her heart may be carrying• Listen with compassion instead of immediately correcting• Choose words that heal rather than shame• Speak truth with both grace and love• Pray before and during difficult conversationsHealthy, God-honoring communication flows from a heart surrendered to Christ. When God shapes the heart, our words begin to reflect Him.Supporting Sisters takes a biblical approach to mental, emotional, and spiritual health, helping sisters in Christ walk alongside one another through life’s struggles.SCRIPTURES DISCUSSED:Luke 6:45Matthew 12:33–36Proverbs 4:23Proverbs 16:24Proverbs 18:21Psalm 139:23–24Ephesians 4:25–29Colossians 4:6Philippians 4:8Romans 12:2James 3John 8CHAPTERS:00:00 Supporting Sisters Opening00:33 Welcome to Season 201:21 Mental and Emotional Health Topics01:50 Godly Communication Begins in the Heart02:52 Why Communication Problems Go Deeper Than Words03:20 Your Words Are the Fruit, Not the Root04:14 What the Bible Means by the Heart04:56 What Is Filling Your Heart?05:37 Stress Exposes What Is Already Inside05:58 Jesus Models Truth and Mercy06:43 Honesty, Kindness, and Grace08:11 Words That Build Up and Give Grace09:20 Questions for Examining Your Heart10:34 How Communication Affects the Mind11:41 Godly Speech Brings Peace12:31 Replacing Harmful Thoughts With God’s Truth13:17 Five Ways to Support a Struggling Sister14:02 Listen Before Trying to Fix14:30 Words Can Heal or Harm14:53 Speak Truth With Grace and Love15:13 Pray for Her15:59 Communication From a Heart Surrendered to Christ16:45 Final Challenge and Next EpisodeKEYWORDS:godly communication, biblical communication, Christian communication, Christian women, supporting sisters, biblical counseling, mental health and the Bible, heart and speech, out of the abundance of the heart, Luke 6:45, words matter, speaking truth in love, grace filled speech, Christian relationships, conflict resolution, women’s ministry, sisters in Christ, emotional health, renewing the mind, biblical mental health, Christian podcastHASHTAGS:#SupportingSisters #GodlyCommunication #ChristianWomen #BiblicalCounseling #WomensMinistry
