Our sinful nature wants nothing to do with God. If it had its way, we'd completely shell ourselves off from God and his Word. God knows this. So, he sent Jesus to invade our space, and we are happy for it. Listen to Pastor Birkholz preach on John 1:43-51.

Jesus came to be the light for all people! People from all over the world, with all kinds of differences have come to the light, Jesus. The Old Testament prophets foretold it and the New Testament confirms it, Jesus came to be the light for all people.

Have you ever wished that you could see Jesus with your own eyes and hear him preach and teach? That would a special time for us. Perhaps that is why we become a little frustrated with people who had opportunities to see and listen to Jesus, yet didn't believe. However, we have everything that we need written in the Bible, and we often fail to pick it up and read it. The Bible has the knowledge that you need.

We love a good comeback story. Jesus came to bring about the greatest comeback of all-time, but it may not be the comeback that you were looking for.

There is a difference between saying, "That's it?" and saying "That's it!" When you see Jesus in the manger, which one do you say? This Christmas, let's say, "That's it! That's what we need!"

What do you expect from the Messiah? Since the Messiah was such a big deal, perhaps you'd expect a little more than what the angel Gabriel announced to Mary. Yet, the announcement of Jesus was a HUGE deal. It reveals to us that Jesus is the Savior and that Jesus is the Son of God. Both of those mean that you have been saved! Praise God!

God sent a great forerunner in John the Baptist to prepare the way for the Savior. The hearts of the people needed obstacles removed and they needed preparation. The same is true today. God gives you forerunners to help you to remove obstacles and prepare your hearts for Jesus' coming.

Jesus could come back at any moment? How does that make you feel... anxious? or excited? The sinful nature in us gets anxious and nervous for Jesus' return, but the faith that the Holy Spirit cultivates, finds amazing comfort in the return of the Savior.

During Covid-19 especially, it may be difficult to find reasons to give thanks. Yet, every time you read Scripture, God gives you another reason to give thanks in your life.

How many paths are there to God? Answer: One. To many that seems restrictive or unloving. But here's the truth. There was only one solution to sin and the problems in this dark world and his name is Jesus. Anyone who is saved is saved by Christ alone. That brings us great comfort and it also fires us up to tell people about Jesus!
