Andrew is back for a mid-summer pod with special guest Johanna Bartz! This time they speak about what is missing in many emails from administrators who are looking for a last-minute covid-related substitution and what the simple (and energy-saving!) solution would be.
Oh yea, and we talk about Tatort, Eiertanzen, and a number of other musician-relevant things as well!

In this episode Mara and Andrew discuss frustrations about running the podcast; tell stories of their early years in music; ask: will countries which continue to lockdown or enforce strong anti-corona measures create a knock-on effect to future generations of performers?; discuss Mara's interest in playing a new instrument; and ask: what tuner do you use?

Today Andrew speaks with James Caswell, Janice Mah, and Jason Sinkus, who are vocal, string, and wind performance instructors at Canterbury High School in Ottawa, Canada. Canterbury is a specialized arts high school where students are given daily lessons in their artistic discipline and are expected to perform in extra-curricular music ensembles. We ask them what the situation has been in the last 18 months; how the regulations have affected music performance in the school; what challenges face current students; and what challenges are to the music program itself in the coming years.
