I'm officially 29 and whew child and thirty is literally around the corner. This episode I discuss the lesson that I learned throughout my twenties. 

It's hard trying to find yourself in the middle of losing yourself. For Chase, he found himself fighting a silent war of anxiety and depression while trying to maintain his grip on life.  After experiencing a violent anxiety attack Chase found himself on the bathroom floor cutting his wrist hoping to go deep enough to take him out of his misery. Although, Chase did not complete his suicide attempt, in that moment he came to the realization that he had  much to live for.

Chase is a Charlotte, NC native a member of Alpha Phi Alphi Inc. Delta Beta chapter, he is pursing a degree in Criminal Justice at Bethune-Cookman University. Chase would like to dedicate this podcast to those out there who struggle in silence, to those who feel as though they may not be strong enough to continue the fight and most importantly those who feel alone in this fight. You will smile again, your heart will come to heal, and you will find peace in abundance when it is all said and done.

In 2014, Philippe age 20 was working as a pizza delivery driver, he was shot in the face by police in a case of police brutality that almost became the first of the recent long string of deaths starting with Eric Garner in 2014.

Phil is now lives in  Atlanta with his 2-year old, Oluremi (Remi for short). Phil was born in Africa in the Ivory Coast, and spoke French before he learned English after moving to the States when he was 3. Phil likes to sketch and draw, is an avid NBA fan, & has many interests spanning from TV, movies, and video games. He’s currently, like many other people, looking for the next solid step through this pandemic while balancing fatherhood and attempting to take care of his family the best he can.
