Description...
Artistic director Ed Sayles talks about his reaction to "Susan B," which he said "shows the suffrage leaders warts and all."
Intro and outro music: “Cold Calculus" from Strictly Elizabeths' album Shelter in Place, Produced by Chris Hughes Sound.
This episode features feminist historian Lillian Federman, who wrote a book called "To Believe in Women: What Lesbians Have Done for America -- A History." Lillian’s research shows that Susan B. Anthony and many other suffragists were women who loved other women (although the term "lesbian" had not been invented yet.). This has been a hidden part of LGBTQ history, but it is explored in the play "Susan B."
