Today I will be talking with Marcy Wilmes, Senior Aquatic Biologist from EGLE, and Melissa DeSimone, Executive Director of Michigan Lakes and Streams Association, about the Michigan Clean Water Corps, also known as MiCorps. Micorps is a network of volunteer water quality monitoring programs in Michigan. I absolutely love the volunteer aspect of this organization, because it allows anyone who is passionate about their favorite lakes and/or streams to get hands on experience learning about water quality while also providing very useful information.

Today I'll be chatting with my good friend Paula Lobaccaro about updates on the Ocean Cleanup from the past year. We first talked about the Ocean Cleanup about a year ago in Episode 27 so if you haven't listened to that one yet, I recommend going back to get a good overview of the Ocean Cleanup non-profit. Paula and I aren't involved with this group however we are both really passionate about protecting our oceans and we love following the various updates that this group releases. Over the past year, they have added debris interceptors in various rivers around the world and have even turned ocean plastic into a great product that you can now purchase.
