Today Jason will be giving us a book report on his latest sustainability read: Cradle to Cradle by Michael Braungart and William McDonough. This is a book from 2022 that rethinks how we create products. Instead of designing things for cradle to grave, they should be designed for cradle to cradle. Even though this book is older, it still has a lot of useful insights. If you are interested in reading this book for yourself, check it out at your local library.

These stories include gummy bears made from wind turbines, solar panels over California's canals, a solution for some PFAS chemicals, and the right to repair law with tractors. Today I'll be chatting with Hila Perry and Nathan Dufour Oglesby from the hip hop group Nate and Hila out of New York. I first came across their composting song and was immediately hooked. I loved how they incorporated facts about composting as well as other ecological topics with music and humor, which to me, seems like a pretty difficult task. Check out all of their music below!

Today I'll be chatting with Darraugh Collins, Site Director of Food Rescue US Detroit. Food Rescue US is all about rescuing healthy food that might otherwise go to landfill and instead donate it to organizations helping to feed people. They recuse food from various donors such as restaurants and grocery stores. Also, the majority of their food goes towards tackling food insecurity, which is significantly higher in Detroit compared to the national average. I'm so glad Food Rescue US Detroit is keeping food out of landfills and is instead feeding our community.
