SWACtalk

The Hornets returned to the field in 2021 and had a typical Alabama State season, they finished 3-3. They did find their future at quarterback in Ryan Nettles and Ezra Gray had a huge game on TV against Jackson State. Their defense kept them in games but their lack of consistency on offense and special teams kept them from taking the next step. We will discuss their season here.

The Spring season has come and gone, and I wanted to provide a team by team recap of their individual seasons. First up is the Bulldogs of AAMU, their season was by far the most interesting of any team in the SWAC. Multiple cancellations and postponements of games led to them having nearly a month off, but they were able to endure the adversity and win the championship. We will breakdown their season here.

The spring season is officially in the books, so we will discuss all the action here. It was certainly an interesting and entertaining season to say the least. On to the fall season now!

We have officially made it to the end of the Spring Season, this journey was interesting to say the least. But we had one last game to take care of and it was a good one. UAPB and AAMU hooked up in Jackson and the Bulldogs got the dub 40-33. We will discuss all the action as well as the All SWAC honors. Let's Go!!!!

It's that time again, time to crown a new SWAC Champion, this has be a quite a journey. Thru all the twists and turns, two teams have survived unscathed to fight for the title. Will UAPB be able to outduel the Bulldogs. Or will AAMU tame the Golden Lions? We will discuss all the action here. Let's Go!!

This was a big week for deciding the division championship races, would UAPB be able to clinch their first title since 2012? Could the first place Bulldogs stomp the Hornets? Even though the Bayou Classic had no bearing on the division races, would Grambling be able to end their season on a successful note? We will discuss all the action here. Let's Go!!!

We head into the next to last week of the season with two games that can decide each division. UAPB and PVU hook up in a huge West Division game. The Magic City Classic featuring AAMU and Alabama State will face off to take control of the East Division. And last but not least is the Bayou Classic, although Grambling is having a rough season, Southern must take this challenge seriously. We'll discuss all the action, Let's Go!!!

Another exciting week of SWAC football in is the books. This week the focus was on the East Division as both games featured Mississippi vs Alabama matchups. Could the Hornets get their sting back? Would the Delta Devils finally get them one? How would the long layoff affect the Bulldogs? Did the Tigers actually fix their problems? We will discuss all the action here. Let's Go!!!

Our journey to the finish line is fast approaching, we have two games on the schedule this week. First Valley heads to Montgomery to take on the Alabama State Hornets. Can ASU rebound from their disappointing loss? Can Valley build on their effort from last week? Our other game is a national broadcast between Alabama A&M and Jackson State. The Bulldogs are just happy to finally play another game, will their hunger be enough to get them a win? Jackson State has instituted a quarterback change, will that be the spark they need to snap their losing streak? Or will this be another decision that Coach Sanders will have to answer for? We will discuss all the action. Let's Go!

A week of SWAC football that was full of surprises, Alabama State had an unexpected result against South Carolina State. UAPB was in an unexpected fight against Valley. And Southern vs Jackson State was unexpectedly one sided. We will talk about all the action. Let's Go!!
