After a 6 week hiatus, we're done fighting and have reconciled our creative differences over the podcast. Sorry you had to get caught up in this but don't worry we talk about working with people you have an outside relationship with on other projects on this episode. We give real tactical advice that helped us to get right back rocking! We wanted to try something fresh, so thank you to everyone who sent in questions...hopefully you enjoy our answers at the start of this episode. In our small chops segment we talk about T-Pain's DMs, Soulja Boy's new record (and TikTok music in general), what's new with BBLs, DJ Khaled's new album, and wrap up by remembering DMX. As usual there are PSAs at the end and we catch up about what we're currently listening to.
We start with congratulations for Temi on big news! Small chops begins with talking about Richard Okorogheye before we switch gears to talk about healthiness in romantic relationships (and yes with a spotlight on Saweetie and Quavo). We talk about predatory behavior in the context of Bhad Bhabie on Onlyfans and wrap up the segment talking about armed robbery. The Eja Nla today looks at shock value and how that is utilized for new acts coming in- we focus on Lil Nas X and his most recent release and overall trajectory. The "Who Needs Cane" segment today definitely has a few surprises.
Quick plug to subscribe on Youtube and follow on Twitter and IG :)! Small chops today include the news on Skepta retiring, Saweetie and Quavo and some thoughts on the Grammy Awards. We talk about Israel DMW and at the end briefly cover Piers Morgan. The Eja Nla is a deep dive on stealing art and the lack of creativity with a lot of the content releases today.
We talk about Meghan and Harry and Oprah and Ebuka...yes! We then move to breastfeeding and give some insights there. 6ix9ine and Lil Nas X provide a useful lens for talking about what goes on behind the scenes in the lives of famous people and we discuss Jay-Z's moves and black business practices in general. We talk about the heated situation with Burna Boy, CDQ and Obagoal before getting in the Eja Nla of the episode: how do people think about separating the artist from the art and what are our mental models? There's some wild stuff happening with some very direct callouts in our "Who needs cane?" section so stay tuned at the end!
Temi starts with being nosy about our Valentine's day plans and Kola discusses his very mentally taxing dream. In our small chops, we talk about Lori Harvey and Boosie as well as Meek Mill & Tekashi. We chat a little bit about Kevin Samuels and the big news with Kim and Kanye before wrapping up with the Millennial vs Gen Z discussion. The Eja Nla of the day is a big question and we debate whether it's better to be a Felon or an International Student. We hope with these few points of ours, we've been able to convince you and not confuse you.
We discuss learning through Tiktok and give some "know this and know peace" tips about Indeed. We briefly comment on Crypto, AMC and GameStop for our investor listeners out there and give thoughts after getting the vaccine and how we're gearing up for ATL's All-Star Weekend! We lay down some points on Gorilla Glue and Mr. Clifford Harris (and family) before we wrap with yet another PSA from Temi...this time on Valentine's Day.
This episode is a little different from our usual structure so let us know what you think.
TemiJGB from Lagurs so we catch up about that and her trip and get a not-so-quick-PSA about Lori Harvey. Every day there's a new challenge but today we talk about the Bussitchallenge and then go through our icks, seeing as that was the rave on Clubhouse. Aliko Dangote GCON firmly cements himself in this episode before we talk about the Ugandan elections and the events at the Capitol Building. We wrap with a mental health segment that's hopefully helpful for driving one of the most important conversations.
On this Special Christmas episode, we find out what everyone did and where everyone is spending the holidays (spoiler alert: we're not in the studio for this one). Our regular small chops include Clubhouse, Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti, Concerts in Lagos, Kidnapped Boys and the arrests of Omah Lay and Tems. As usual, the Eja Nla for today is an exciting (and slightly traumatic conversation about apartment searches). Stay tuned at the end for the first of many "Who Needs Cane?" segments.
We talk through the Headies Nominations, Davido's new Jowo video and artists hosting concerts in the midst of a panoramic. To stay on brand with our Small Chops, we talk about (you guessed it) small chops and the twitter debate that related to small business owners and we discuss misinformation by celebrities through different lenses including religion, education etc. The Eja Nla today is titled "Drip or Debt" and we give our views on why people are willing to die for the flex. We introduce a new segment called "Who is in need of cane?" so stay tuned for more!
We go through the Grammy Nominations (and chat about corrupt systems), Megan Thee Stallion's highly-anticipated album, 9ice and his viral video and we remember one of the greatest ever football players Diego Maradona amongst other Small Chops. We find out who/what riled us up this week but before that we share some horror stories of how women have manhandled men in our Eja Nla section.
