When we were younger, we each had an idea of the men we thought we would become—but life had plans of its own. This week, we’re talking about boyhood expectations, masculinity, coming out, marriage, fatherhood, and the unexpected journeys that shaped us. We may not have become the men we once imagined, but we’re pretty damn proud of the men we are today. ????????

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, we’re talking husbands, households, and what it actually takes to make a marriage work. Who cooks? Who cleans? Who handles the money? Who keeps the calendar together? And the question every two-husband household eventually gets asked: “So…who’s the wife?” ???? Spoiler alert: neither of us.

We’re getting real about the roles we each play in our relationships, how we divide the responsibilities of everyday life, and how those roles have changed over the years. Because a strong relationship doesn’t just happen. It takes communication, compromise, laughter, a little patience, and sometimes knowing when to just do the damn dishes.

From the things we absolutely love about our husbands to the things that drive us completely insane, we’re talking about the work behind the happily ever after—and why, at the end of the day, we’d still choose them all over again.
