Jack asked… “I consult a very specific niche that does not have a lot of people in the space. The good news for me is that I'm just about the only one who provides consulting in this space, but the bad news is it's so small finding clients through traditional paid channels like PPC/social media might not be viable.
Cold calls and contacts seem like the way to go but I don't want to be spammy, and I don't have a huge client base I can brag about because we are so new.
How do you tackle landing clients in a small space without a reputation? Thanks Jason!”

Business is a game of inches. One quick decision too fast, you don't win that client. One slow decision too slow, you go out of business. The decisions we make are so important, but we need to understand that when we feel we are so far away, we really are not. We are only inches away from what we view as success.

Have you ever had a client come to you, and tell you that they are going a different direction, when you were getting them killer results?
Happened to me quite a bit until I changed some things.
1. Start the relationship off the right way with knowing the results they want. Too many agencies sell services, rather than results.
2. Benchmark where they started and where are they currently with working from you, and communicate that in one way or another every time you interact with them.
3. Make sure you are setup for success. Too many times agencies take on the wrong prospects that turn into horrible clients.
Kelly asked…
“How do you show all the little things you are doing for free every day for a client without looking like, "look what I did for you today"?
Showing value is key, but not sure how to show it without looking like this.
One consultant told me once to send them a monthly invoice of all the stuff I do for free and put a value on it. I don't like that approach.
Most things the client does know what we do, but not everything, then they cannot see the whole value of what they are getting.
We do a TON for free I feel and even got into a situation where I felt we were doing everything every day for free or very cheap including after hours. After doing all these things for free, we still lost the client so I need to make sure going forward clients truly understand everything we do.”

How can you compete with so many digital agencies? It’s hard to stand out, and in order to stand out we need to change the game. In order to change the game, we need to think about the game in a new light.
One of my favorite movies is “MoneyBall.”
They had a problem with competing with the bigger and more funded teams, so they needed to look at the game differently. Rather than looking at buying players, they needed to look at it as buying wins. In order to buy wins, they needed to buy runs. In order to buy runs, they needed to get people on base.
The same rule is for growing your business.
If you want to grow revenue, you need to buy ideal clients. In order for you to buy ideal clients, you need to buy the pitch. In order to buy the pitch you need to buy their attention. In order to buy their attention, you need to know who they are. In order to identify your ideal clients, you need to identify your core service you can do better than anyone else.

It all starts with putting out helpful content that makes them aware of you, You know this already, so why are you not doing this, or why are you doing this half a55?
Meaning you are putting out content that is incomplete, like an Ikea instruction manual. By itself it is incomplete unless you have a YouTube video to go along with it. :)
In this episode I will cover exactly what you need to do in order to create content that connects with your target audience, and generate leads on a consistent basis.

It sucks when your revenue has stopped growing or possibly gone backwards, and you are thinking it will be back to 0. And it could.
The thing is everyone goes through this multiple times in their careers.
When I was growing up, I was one of the best tennis players in Florida, and got a scholarship to play tennis and was one of the best. But sometimes I would get on the court, and be horrible. Everything I worked on, went out the window. My serve that I practices for hours was not going in. My forward which was my weapon was sailing out.
You know what my coach would tell me?
Go back to the basics.
1. Take your racquet back and prepare.
2. Focus on the ball.
3. Follow through
The funny thing that would happen, was he was right.
The same thing will work for you in your career.
Take your racquet back means you need to PREPARATION.
Its hard to achieve what you want in life without preparation, and everything takes hard work and practice.
Their is no silver bullet or magic pill that will transform you over night. You need to prepare for what you want.
Next, you need to focus on the ball, which is YOUR GOAL.
Do you know how many people I talk too that don’t have solid goals. That means, they are wondering around blind. It’s like me on the tennis court swinging with my eyes close. Sure I might get lucky a couple of times, but most likely I will lose the match.
The same is with you.
What do you need to focus on?
Lastly, you need to follow through.
A goal without follow through is a wish. And you can wish in one hand, and crap in the other and see which ones fills up first.
So now you need to take action and follow through. You know what you need to focus on, so take action and follow through.

The biggest mistake you can possibly do with growing your agency is bring on a partner. I get it, and I even did it :)
I understand what you are going through when you hit a plateau in growth. You are unclear what to do next, and you doubt that you have the knowledge to scale the agency so you think bringing on someone else will help.
Or possibly you feel isolated, and you can not be vulnerable to your team, because you are supposed to be the leader.
Those are the most common reasons why businesses bring on partners.
9 out of 10 times the agency owner buys out the partner they brought on. Really.
At first it’s all sunshine and rainbows and then the storm comes. The business out grows them, and they start pulling away and costing the business money, time, employees, etc…
Happened to me and happened to almost every agency I have chatted with. Sure their are exceptions, but are you willing to take the risk.
So now what is probably what you are thinking right now. What do I need to do?
Well I would tell you to look for someone or a community that can provide you the resources and support you need.
That is why I created Agency University, where you get to work directly with me, you get to ask the questions your are struggling with, and I lay you out a plan of what you need to do in order to grow your agency faster.
You will also be surrounded by amazing agency owners that have gone through what you are dealing with now, that can show you what worked for them.
And at anytime you think you are ready to spread your wings you can do it on your own without having to buy your partner out for the big bucks.
Don’t you think that is a better option?
When it comes to scaling your agency, many people are so close to their agency they don’t know where to start. Agency University helps agencies setup the right systems from how to position your agency, what your agency should be charging, who you should hire, and so much more.... So you don't have to do everything yourself.
What Could You Create With The Right Support, Mentorship, Community & Resources?
