Swish Appeal: for women's basketball fans.

WNBA All-Star Weekend had some tremendous highs — a Sylvia Fowles dunk! an Allie Quigley four-peat! — and also some logistical lows. Eric Nemchock, a contributor to Swish Appeal, was at the event in Chicago and joins Sabreena to talk about his experience on the ground, what the WNBA did well, and what the league can learn for future All-Star weekends.

The Las Vegas Aces were the team to beat for the first six weeks of the WNBA season, starting 13-2 and obliterating opponents in the process. They're 2-4 since and have shown real signs of mortality, but it's unclear if this a blip in the schedule or cause for real concern. Sam Gordon of the Las Vegas Review-Journal joins Sabreena to talk about why the Aces have slid and what needs to fix for the team moving forward.

There hasn't been a back-to-back champ in the WNBA for 20 years, but the Chicago Sky look poised to challenge that streak.

Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times (subscribe to her work!) joins Sabreena on the podcast to talk about the defending champs, who also happen to be the league's best team in the month of June. Annie and Sabreena get into the team's new additions, if Candace Parker would really consider retiring after this season, the merits of James Wade's executive of the year case, and much more.
