We live in a world of constant evaluation. From our careers to our relationships—and even our faith—it often feels like we’re only as good as our latest performance. Many Christians carry that same pressure into their relationship with God, wondering if they’ve prayed enough, served enough, given enough, or believed well enough to stay in His good graces.

In Chosen Before Time, we explore Ephesians 1:3–14 and discover a life-altering truth: God’s love for us was never based on our performance. Before creation, God established a plan that anyone who is in Christ would be chosen, adopted into His family, redeemed through Jesus’ blood, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. While our resources are limited, God’s are not. Like King Jehoash, we often stop short of full obedience because we’ve decided what feels safe or sensible—but God calls His people to go all in. As individuals and as a church, we are challenged to stop doing the math for God, to trust Him with every area of life, and to pursue complete victory rather than incremental progress as we boldly live out His mission.

What does real love actually look like? In this message, we’re reminded that love isn’t just something we feel or say—it’s something we do. Through personal story and the example of Jesus, we discover that genuine love shows up, sacrifices, and serves with purpose. As followers of Christ, we’re called not only to care for one another, but to pursue the lost, multiply access to the Gospel, and live with the same self-giving love that Jesus showed us.

Many believers struggle with lukewarm faith, appearing active in church while avoiding true obedience to God's calling. Jesus warned the church at Laodicea about being neither hot nor cold in their commitment. Real love for God is demonstrated through obedience to His commands, particularly the Great Commission to make disciples. Common areas of pretending include our schedules, finances, comfort zones, and witness to others. Authentic Christianity requires moving beyond surface-level activity to wholehearted obedience, even when God's calling feels overwhelming or costly.
