Switch Youth

1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come." Luke 11:1-2 NIV

What is prayer? Why should we do it? How can you hear from God? On this episode, we are talking about all this and more. Let's dive in!

Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more. (Mark 4:24 NLT) Today, we are talking about parables—what they are, how they work, and why Jesus used them. Trust us, there's so much more to this than a bunch of cute stories. It's in this teaching style that the secrets of the Kingdom are concealed in order to be revealed to those who will work with Jesus' words.

How far would you go to help a friend? We have a value at our church that we will do anything short of sin to reach people who don't know Jesus. This idea was demonstrated by the friends we are studying in Mark chapter 2. Check it out!

Mark 1:15 tells us that Jesus began to preach the Good News throughout all of Galilee, but what He said might surprise you. It wasn’t, “Believe I’m real so you can go to heaven when you die.” It was, “The time has come. The Kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the Good News.” So, what is the Kingdom of God? What does it mean that it has come near? Why does it matter? And how can you be part of it? All this and more as we dive deep into God’s Word this week!
