In 1 Samuel 18, the Lord has left Saul and David is on the run from him. Saul had grown jealous of David’s success. But, David’s time in the wilderness was shaping him into the leader God was calling him to be. 

God’s goodness doesn’t mean you will be comfortable at all times. Even while David was in the wilderness, he was looking to God. 

Believer, stop looking around you and fix your eyes on Christ.
